Make GLOVES to understand how it works, all by hands. Then I was new AS, I'v made tons of gloves before I get it Anyway, remember you need at least 25% base on segments

Omg I think I got it. Well making decent comp with kinetic! It came out to 80% kinetic 60% elec 53% rest! So If I understand slicing correctly if I say got a 28% slice the base of 53% would go up to 81% ?

Well, the thing that is really killing you at the moment is your resources. The low SR values is what is keeping your resists down, forcing you to use heavier layers to get decent results.

To really understand where you are, make a pair of gloves using advanced segments without any layers. This will tell you what your base is so you can plan on what type of layers will get you the results you need. For instance, lets say your base ends up around 53% on the gloves. In order to hit 80% kinetic, you will need the kinetic resists plus the base resists on your segments to add up to 27. You can do this using (3) 4% base layers with 5% kinetic resists.

So your base of 53 + (3 x 4 base) + (3 x 5%) = 80 kinetic, 65 base composite

One thing, when making your kinetic layers experiment them 4% base and 4% kinetic. Also experiment the base on your segments and not the resist. Not sure if you are doing that or not. You should be able to get a higher base resist that way.

That only works if you have good resources. If you are using crappy stuff you have to spend more points on kinetic to get it to 80%.

Furia, Kavala, Xana, Tarantella (Xana's alt, before NGE), all cancelled.(3 accts total)

That's true, I guess I'm just used to having them. Sometimes the brain forgets these things, hehe.

Ok I tried again with some different wooly. I'm gonna post everything see if you guys can help me. I think someone said to use like 2 kinetic layers and 1 energy, I havnt tried that yet. I was using these seggs. I made since I made quite a few.
Comp armor pants
43k integrity
50% electric
74% kinetic
43% rest (Got a amazing success on expirement to kinetic special stat)
Resources used :
Wooly : Oq 926 sr 225
Copper: oq 836 sr 439
petrochem: oq 658
Iron: oq 726 sr 779
Alum: oq 401 sr 800
ore: oq 780 sr 968
Fiberplast: oq 726 sr 744
ADvanced comp armor seg:
base 23%
integ 1109
eletric 6%
kinetic 31%

Any help would be awsome

You really need some better resources mate, sorry....

At the moment in spawn are some nice AS resources, I suggest you stock up for a couple more weeks before you try selling... Some examples of nice current spawns on Flurry are:

Woviine Duranium Steel oq 966 sr 773

Quadtetrabokoium Colat Iron oq 944 sr 771 - (this is top of the list I think)

Ootou Yavinian Wooly Hide oq 843 sr 725 - Yavin is the best place to get wooly, can get huge amounts....

Yah the wooly on yavin isn't that anymore. I just had a Ranger get me a stack of 10k. and its the stuff i used I need to go get that iron though must have just changed.

No. A 28% eff slice will take 53% base to 67% base (1.28 * 53). Highest base you can slice 53% to is 71%.

Related question from a recent master AS who's had an independantnon-master business for the past few months.... (oooo, what a long non-grind!)

Just been testing the composite armours by messing around with layers/segments and gloves.... tried a few things of my own, looked up a few in stickies etc.... but.....

Since there hasn't been a spawn of Kiirum steel since like ever! (well, not since I started AS) on my server I'm reduced to making non-advanced segments. (Nope, no way I can afford to buy some either - if I could find some even)

So, with that in mind, what's the best non-advanced resists I could expect?

So far, I've managed triple layered kin comp at 77% kin and 57% base. Doesn't seem too bad but will it sell?

Regards

Anything will sell if it is priced correctly. Most thing out in the jungle do ken dmg and if you are getting 80% ken whice you are close. You may be able to tap a market. Just make sure it is priced accordingly to the rest of the armor sold on your server. It may give you enough sales to save up and guy some kirrium and than you'll be good to go.

I mastered armorsmith and then collected resources for a year before making my first "real" set of sellin' armor to avoid this problem.

Now I'm trying to buy up as many of these 30k kits as I can because of the hides and bones.
