Sorry if the answer to this is available elsewhere, but I don't have time to search atm. Thanks.

in a PVE battle it will do you as much good as if you ran out into battle wearing nothing but your boxers. Unfortunately thats the way it is with the damage multipliers. Only thing its good for anymore is PvP (yawn mines bigger than yours! No mine is! NO MINE IS! that kind of thing) which is so lame its beyond description (uselessness of armor not PvP...... although that's pretty lame too in my book
)

10k would be about 70% if I remember correctly. however it is a theoretical max which as I understand it cannot be hit.

ok i guess i should have specified but im looking for the formula which converts the armor rating (or whatever it is called) into the damage reduction %.I want the math if anyone knows it.

Awesome, just what I wanted NiBorg - thanks much.
So it LOOKS like armor with stats of 10k APPROACHES 60% damage reduction.
Sweet deal.

I wish the Devs had paid attention to what their current player base actually wanted . . .

I'm lucky ifI can balance my check book, how I figured out the old system alone is beyond me.

Come on people. We have no idea what 10000 extrapolates to. name a number. I'll give you a polynomial that fits existing data provided by Okram and through that point with an R^2 of 0.99.
NO ONE KNOWS what 10000 relates to our data stops at the mid 50's percentage. And those of you looking at the natural curve of the data are silly. Mathematics is now used to fit the data. More data is needed above 53% resists to determine the answer to this questions.
By some equations with excellent fits, 10000 is only in the 80s% resists.
