Thread: How do YOU get your hides and other creature resources?
I am currently working on smuggler, which seems most useful for the faction points to get the faction armor. The downside there is that I have to give up skill points for things like tailor, which seems to be useful for an armorsmith. I guess I should just find a good tailor to buy those components from. Any other opinions? Thanks Saarek!

I'm just curious, how many of you have alts for gathering creature resources, or how many hire a ranger, or have guildmates get the necessary supplies? How about the loot drops for armor?
Is it possible to be a successful armorsmith with only one character, namely the armorsmith? Can a helpful guild be good enough to make the extra resources attainable?
I hunt for my own with my Ranger alt. While I can effectively get enough solo, I do like to team up with other rangers when possible to make the kills go faster and increase the amount of hide/bone dropped per creature. The two toons I have do seem to compliment each other well... I make my own armor & weapons for my combat character, hunt for my own hide/bone/loot/enhancers for my as/ws character, use those to make more armor & weapons, rinse, and repeat. Having the extra lots for all the factories and harvesters is probably one of the biggest advantages now with the increased factory times and resource requirements. In fact, if it weren't forbattle padding (I still have x2xx in tailor for the FP's and RFP's), I really wouldn't have to rely on anyone else for anything except the occasional slice on my own weapon, but I usually get that taken care of when I make a custom set of armor for one of my smuggler clients. ![]()
