I think the decay rate is fine. I think that if they were to evenly distibute damage to all 7 pieces it would be perfect. I have used one suit of armor since the CU came out. I have used repair kits 2 times, and replaced a helm once. I have been soloing GDK's - grouping dark jedi master missions, done 50-75% of kashyyyk, and converted capped xp at least 10 times. Before the CU, armor would last less time that it does now. I will be honest, I dontcare about PVP decay, it should be part of the territory. The problem with people whining about decay is that they dont know how to fight post-CU. The average suit has 33% more condition than before and decays what 30-40% faster? I could be wrong, but my ranger alt does not seemuch of a difference, but maybe thats just because I dont try and tank everything. So, as an armorsmith, if my alts are just using a suit per month and I have the stock and resources to wear a new suit a day..... I gave all my guild members new suits as well, and only 1 (my hunting buddy) has needed a new one and we play this game WAY too much. However, i am not against raising the condition, I just think there are much more pressing matters to fix.

And please for the love of all that is holy.... make health enhancers like ris segment, used in the final combines.... It is highly irratatiing to have to do it at segment level.

-Kashyyykian Ceremonial armor bug

This is a very strange bug, as I can’t think of a reason that this would be happening. Apparently only one arm piece on the right side only can be worn, i.e. the bicep but not the gauntlet, or vice versa. This is only happening on the right arm. The left arm works fine.

Suggested Fix: Obviously, there’s something making it not possible for the right arm to wear both pieces. This needs to be rectified.

Being a Wookiee Rifleman I can tell you exactly what the bug here is. The Right Bicep of the Ceremonial armor is tagged as a Right Bracer.

Easy to prove too, putting on gloves will remove your right bicep piece, but not the left. Don't know if this is fixed on the current TC build, but it shouldn't take much more than a second to put in a fix.

A quick point regarding armor decay rates...

...the rate of decay depends on what you are doing with it, quite obviously, I still have same suit of armor and it is weeks since cu (and I've done plenty with it).

The decay rate argument is coming from, I suspect, people either grinding xp or taking on high level mobs/creatures/npcs. The question I have is "Doing both of these involves either taking a heck of a lot ofhits, or taking high damage hits, sowhy shouldn't armor decay fast?" If you are grinding then don't use expensive armor, if you are high level looting then you get your reward with loot touse or sell on= armor does it's job, why should you have a suit that lasts 3 months?

Okay, I exaggerate slightly with the 3 months but seriously, if you pound a piece of armor constantly then it will deteriorate... makes sense to me.

My next point, same issue, is that consider armor prices now... they are higher than pre-cu, yes? At the moment people are having to buy lots of armor due to decay rate when used as mentioned above, which results (or will result) in prices dropping.

So, what happens when you slow the decay rate? You are slowing sales of armor, which will put prices up again. That is how the economy works: High demand goods = cheaper prices, Low demand goods = higher prices. When people do not require something as often, the price of that something has to increase or else the maker/seller makes no money!

Bascially, way I see it is that you can either have, a) High durability armor that is V expensive or, b) Lower durability armor that is cheaper. Seems that it will balance out either way but is it not better to have more affordable armor, so that the less wealthy players can afford it?

Great thread though, spot on with the current issues.

To your first point. I made a set of wookiee hunting armor. It isassault armor and my stats were 6061 kinetic and 4061 Energy with appx. 36,000 condition. A friend and I went to Dath last night (I was looking for rancor hides) After abotu 2-3 hours, my armor was down to about 17,000 condition. IN TWO or THREEHOURS!!!! The issue for one, is that I'm a Carbineer so I get more aggro then he does (rifleman) secondly I'm a healer (4 0 0 0 Combat Medic) So I again, get more aggro then him. I need thehigh kinetic armor to stay alive, we each died once, but itwas due to him using an area attack and aggroing more guys that we could handle. Anyway, there's nothing wrong with going otDath to hunt rancor...that is why Dath is there (CONTENT). Since I'm an AS, it's not a big issue tome,I'm thinking of my customers. It's not right for them to have to buy a new set of armor after about 6-7 hours of tank-style fighting, which is what assault armor is used for. In no way did I loot anything worth enough money to replace this armor if Ihad to buy it fromsomeone else.

As to your second point, I don't know about others, but I haven't insisted on a lower decay rate, just a boost the total condition a bit. I don't charge armor based on how long theirs last, I charge based on how long it takes me to make a set and gather the resources.

Excellent summary, Caile. Not much more I can add, but I'll throw in a few notes.

As someone else pointed out, condition experimentation on segments and cores does have some noticable effect. Now, it would be nice if we could actually get a stat rating for the condition on our segments and cores that would more adequately reflect this.

While we're asking for sockets on Mabari Belts, Padded Belts, Ubese Shirts, and Ubese Bandoliers, we oughta go ahead and ask for them on the boots and gloves as well.

With regard to loot enhancers, resist enhancers would be a great thing for the elusive core enhancers, or another appearance enhancer. As much as I'm not a fan of the +health design, it works well being tied to the segments and keeps it "special."

I like the ideas for more "unique" armor types like R.I.S. Love to hear more, and would love the additional content. Heck, even looted schematics for BH armor or the various Marauder Armors would be cool. Mandalorian definitely needs another look -- it's easy as pie to be Luke or Obi-Wan in this game, but pretty impossible to be Boba or Jango.

One issue came to my mind a bit late:

Does looted Recon armor segments and cores exist in the game? Noone has managed to loot any so far and I am beginning to wonder. Would be nice to get a confirmation from a Dev.

Another thing I would like to add/know

Why did they remove the Marauder Recon and Assault armors from our schematic list?
I still have people asking me if they will ever be able to wear this armor but are not Cert for battle.

Everything else looks wonderfull.
I can only pray for the color kits, this is something we have been asking for since the start almost 2 years ago... but /sigh
