I just became a Master Armorsmith and have been reading all the problems (not that I am suprised) but I still want to try and see how it is and if they fix (ROFL) the problems. Any way I was looking at all the armor and layers and segments and and and. What are the best layers to put in armor these days??? Any help would be greatly apprecited.

The only layers really worth it are probably energy and primus layers.

I don't see alot (any actually) demand for kinetic layers.

But my best advice for someone just entering armorsmithing would be to not use layers at all. You would do better by making unlayered armor at a resonable price, than taking the effort and tons of resources on making layered suits. Your business would increase much faster and you would be able to satisfy demand better.

Primus. In my mind the negatives of using kinetic and energy layers (kinetic layers reduce energy protection and energy layers reduce kinetic protection) outweigh their usefulness.

There's nocompelling need for layers IMHO. Concentrate on making the best unlayered armor you can (getting the special protection close to the 6000 cap). Layers don't make that big a difference in reducing damage. We're talking 4.5 percent more damage blocked by increasing a stat from 6000 to 7000 and 3.5 percent more damage blocked by going from 7000 to 8000.

All that said, I DO use primus layerspurely for the bigger numbers they create. Primus layers reduce the special protection (elemental protection) of the armor, but elemental damage isn't really a factor in the game right now. I use primus in R.I.S. and in some suits of faction and regular armor, which I then call ELITE armor and triple the price.

with factional armor you have to be a member of the faction to buy the schematics correct??? and for someone with no fighting ability the only way I can see to get that is by buying it from a smuggler right???? and RIS how would one get the schematic for it without being a fighter???

Correct on faction. For RIS components, you have to buy them from other people if you do not hunt them yourself.

Ris is a quest that you can take without being a fighter. As for the components... You'll have to buy them if you have no way of ubtaining them yourself.
