Sorry for double post , no text appeared in the other one ?
Thank you for answering my other 2 questions , which has helped a lot .
Question number 3
i have been thinking about layers in composite segments and which ones to use .
i was thinking of 1 stun , 1 blast and 1 kinetic . Would this be a good combination ? or should i use blast instead of stun or perhaps 3 kinetic layers ? i dont have the resources to try them all out as i have only recently mastered and would appreciate help or advice of experienced armour smiths. Also what would be a reasonable price for a complete suit of ubese wirh 50% kinetic and15% others ?
I have been looking through the forum but havent been able to find much about what each layer type contributes overall . i f you know of a good thread perhaps you can help me and link yto it in a reply .
many thanks

Layers! These are the things that separate the men from the boys in the armor crafting world. As for which type and stats on layers it really depends on which market you are trying to serve with your armor. I have noticed that you can make armor for pvp, pve, bargain shoppers, high end armors.
Most people that do alot of pvp want stun armor. Highest possible stun and effectiveness. This is the hardest kind of armor to make as it requires a couple rare minerals. Also to make the good stun armor you really need to be a 12 point smith. This does not mean you can't make decent stun armor just that you will not be able to crank out the 1.5mil suits.
For pve you now have 2 types of sets, the kinetic and the energy sets. Both of these sets should be made with 3 matching layers of the apropriate type either Energy or Kinetic. You want to get as close as possible to 80% in the special and keep the effectiveness above 55%. This should not be too hard with good resources, the trick though is to keep the HAM low on your sets and this requires high end resources and skill tapes. Sets of this type can go for between 250k and 1mil.
The bargain shopper wants cheap armor! He also wants good armor! This is a tough market to be in, and one some people think you have to make armor for! If you want to serve this market your best bet is to make Kinetic layered ubese. Experiment the layers to max kinetic (should be around 13% when done) and put the rest into HAM reduction. Then experiment the special up on the final armor combine to raise the kinetic to the 70% range. Sets of ubese sell for between 100k and 200k. This is a high volume market, I can move 100 sets per weekend easy if I do any advertising at all.
The last market is the high end market. These are the people that have tons of credits. To serve this market you need to use loot enhanced layers. NS and Krayt drops are whats needed here. Also you can do the RIS quest. Making these layers and armors is not for the faint hearted as you can loose millions of credits on a bad combine, but the payoffs can be huge.
On layers, it has been my experience that mixing different types of layers is not very effective. You will be placing protections in the special category which is the least favorable spot. You want to stick with one type of layer and make it as well as possible. The most popular types of layers are Stun, Energy and Kinetic. Don't use blast as very few things actually do blast damage, and the blast layers tend to be heavier than other types due to resources. Energy is the easiest to make very light and high effectiveness, with kinetic very close also.
When making my layers I make 2 types. One is for low HAM armor the other is for pvp heavy suits. On the low HAM ones experiement the HAM down as low as possible, usually that will be between 1 and 2 per category. Put the rest of the points into effectiveness, this will be between 2.2 and 3.1 or so. For the pvp sets max out the effectiveness, will end up around 4.3 and put the rest into HAM will be around 6 or 7 when done. The only exception to this is stun layers which you want to put the points into special protection and the rest into effectiveness.
Well I hope this helps you as there are not alot of good posts on the actual mechanics of making good armors. These are just some of my observations on armor making. The prices reflect Corbantis pricing also, your server may differ. GL on your crafting.

Blast is a specialty damage, not much does it in the wild and only a few player weapons do it. Kinetic, energy, and stun are the most popular layers.
