Thread: My favorite posts from new masters...
Its annoying to see someone buy their way into a profession. 90% of those are hologrinders who stop for a moment at composite to make "uber creditz" so fund buying more holocrons....you know....because its so easy to just go out and buy all the resources needed to make good composite worth selling. heh...
Oh well, they are always going to be there. It's just too bad people actually sell resources to them. Earn it, I say.
I think it's more difficult to buy the stuff than harvest it. You're right...there's some stuff that's just not available. I have a couple of resources that no one could pay me for. I just won't sell them.
Good for them for looking for it though. I've purchased resources from vendors too.
Dewi...Do you make any low level stuff? ie. Chitin or Mabari. I just started a toon on Scylla and am running around in 3% base Mabari. I'm not playing it much so it will take a few days to get10-15k credits.
personally, I like the "I have these resources.........what kind of composite can I make...can I make 80%Kinetic, 70%Base with em?"
The answer is invariably: Sorry, you need better resources. But that isn't what bothers me.
Go make yourself a pair of gloves, it is easy, you learn far more than reading here could teach you. Takes about 5 minutes of your game time, and uses few resources. In the mean time, you get a chance to get some lucky amazing experiments on your layers/segments, and possibly turn out a great schematic. That is how my current 14.25%kinetic/2.4%Base/14/14/14 layer for Ubese occured. like 7/10 amazings for that one.
Then, come back with a list of the resources, your experimentation process, and the glove results, and you can almost 'learn for yourself' how to improve on it. (90% of the time, it is, Get Better Resources).
Sorry if this sounds bitter.

Doesn't get any better than that! You better jump on it before he changes his mind!

... are the ones where they've got a laundry list of resources for comp, they need them all now, and they need them in the best quality in the history of the server. Seriously, I just read a post in a galaxy trade forum where a new MAS is looking for literaly every single resource for the crafting of kinetic layered comp and stun layered comp (of course only the best quality will do).
My advice to the current armorsmith grinders:slow down. Pay attention to the resource spawns that occur while you're leveling, and know what you'll need to run your store when you hit master. What's the point if getting to MAS as fast as possible if you're not going to be able to do anything but stare at your draft schematics because you missed every good spawn of resources while you were grinding away?
Why?
If they have the money needed to buy these resources is there any reason what so ever not to get it?
Why? Because most of the time these resources aren't for sale. Usually the only way to aquire a significant amount of them is to find an older master headed towards retirement. It's extemely unwise to ignore the current spawns while you grind in the hope that you'll be able to buy your way into the game once you hit master.
