I apologize if this has come up before, but I was curious what kind of stats the Shards and Layers range from. I believe base is -10/-10/-10 for the shards and layers are 3%, but what is considered mid grade or extremely nice?

Also, what percentage of layers is needed to be better than a standard advanced suit of armor?

Any help would be appreciated.

In my experience, a good mid-grade Shard has stats in the 20's and 30's. I've heard of them going up to the 60-70 range (never saw one myself). The bestLayers I'veworked withpersonally were 16%, I'm sure they go higher, but I'm not sure how high... With perfect material, a player-made Layer tops out at 5% base, and has some encumberance number attached to it (the higher the base%, the higher the enc will be). An NS Layer has no mind or health encumberance, and has a negative action encumberance, therefore even a basic 3% layer can make a better than average piece of armor if used properly. Generally, Layers 5% base and up are coveted by composite makers, because they exceed our own layers in base%, and of course are much lower encumberance. Layers in excess of 9-10% are especially coveted by RIS makers.

Thank you very much for the help.
