Howdy,

Was wondering if I put 2 layers (radther then 3) into the segment, (maxed out base of course), that I would get around 80% kinetic, decent base (60%+) and make a set of LOW HAM armor that I can wear unbuffed..(Composite) Thanks guys

The simple answer is no. The more complex answer is that it is entirely dependent on your allocation of HAM pool points, and if you have the armor encumbrance sliced. Armor encumbrance, in the days before the god-like Doctor's buffs and all this "buff once wear two ton armor forever" nonsense, was supposed to be the pivitol issue in Secondary player HAM distribution. Want heavy resists? Trim the Primary pools.... Want quickly regenerating Primary bars and low cost specials?.... Wear lighter armor. In short, there was supposed to be tactic and thought put into a players point distribution. Now we buff bufF buFF bUFF and BUFF, weself-regenerate frominjury quicker than Clooney in Solaris, we wear armor that was never meant to be crafted because no player was SUPPOSED to be able to wear it, and then we "solo-group" to make millions mowing down Rancor lairs.

Once upon a time, all of us armorsmiths were supposed to ask questions like the very one you just did my friend. Had it not been for these outragous Secondary pool augmentation buffs (2500 for 3 hours!) we would have nagged the developers long ago to make encumbrance experimentation viable. If base and not buff stat was the solitary measure ofwhich armor could and could not be worn, we armorsmith really would have had to become imaginitive artisans and not "massharvesting / factory running / playerbase gougung / armor RESIST" bots that most of us are.

Nerf the Armorsmiths???? End the secondary pool stat buffing silliness, and we will nerf our armor all by ourselves. Let Doctors buff the Primaries ONLY, make the Secondary base pools the crux of the players tactical distribution strategy regarding armor selection and VOILA... we have a game again. We make different armor for different player's combat tastes. No more resist pumped Comp factory marathons for us. And the silliest thing of all is that THAT is how the game was designed in the first place! and who's bright idea was it to make Composite free from Organic requirement? Well, they seem to have corrected themselves on that point with the Wookie Hunting armor at least. Hmmmmm... and why only ONE damage type (now two) that NO armor had at least a natural base resist against (perma-gated Tantel notwithstanding?)

Well the bestanswer to your question thenI suppose is that "I HOPE SO in the near future, yes". And that a certain segment of the playerbase would consider that armor as the penultimate for what their strategic Secondary poolpoint distribution demanded. While other playerbase segments would simply consider it much too heavy (though perhaps wearable) for their particular combat style, and would come to you looking for another armor approach entirely.

The problem is, your 100% correct....When buffed, there is no need for LOW HAM armor, you can have 90% armor and be superbuffed in all your bars...I love SWG
