Stun, being a normal vulnerability on composite, can only be effected by stun layers. Adding a stun layer of 10% to you segment will give your armor a stun resist of 10%. Vulnerabilites cannot be raised by experimentation, they only have the value the layer added.

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Exactly, although there is a very small boost to the resist when you craft the final piece of armour. This boost is related solely to the materials used, and cannot be improved with experimentation. For example, my 39% stun armour actually has 38% listed on the segment - with some small fraction of a % that doesn't show up - and when these are put in with all of my other resources the final 39% value is achieved.

In general, the best way to work stun layers is to push the lowest line (exp resistance) as hard as possible, this will generally get you a 12% (or 13% if you're lucky and you have access to high-end resources) stun resist. Once you have done all you can there, put the rest of your points into base resist. The end result is usually something along the lines of: 2-3% base, 16/16/16 HAM, 11-12% stun resist.

Hope this helps
