I sell a lot of Padded. I put black on the vendor and do the rest on custom order. I generally sell 5-15 suits a week of Padded. But... I charge a little less than unlayered composite for it and I work to keep the quality of the armor up to about the same or higher kinetic than Ubese (current Padded 74% base, 46% base). There are waaaay too many colour combos to keep that much on the vendor. I keep meaning to do different colour variations for the vendor, but keep having the segs I run taken up by custom orders.

I'm working my way up AS at the moment and rather than following all the others that only sell the higher ranged armours, I would wondering if it would be possible to start by selling Decorative armours,
Currently I wear a suit of Padded armour. The ammount of people that say how good it looks has started me thinking that I could open a vendor to sell various colours of Padded armour and maybe the others if they look good enough.
I want to know, has any one else tried a vendor like this and if so, how did it go. I'mm assuming that one day my padded armour might be worth wearing.

if your going to do decocorative i suggest you do special orders.. as most people want their favorite color.

Just a thought from me, I had a similar idea when I started armorsmith and I made suits in the colors of famous sports teams, countries and such 
) They take resources and the stats were horrid but I made full suits in several colors and they sold pretty well. It is a nice alternative to clothing and is often times more colorful. I have also made a few custom suits with boots, bracers, gloves, shorts (clothing), bikini top (clothing) for females (pink and black is my most popular combo) and also boots, pants, bracers and gloves with a nice matching Ubese Shirt for the gents. It is a fun way to pass the time and get your name out a bit. Just make sure that people understand the stats will be like 20% or so and with moderate encumbrances so they likely won't be able to wear a full suit just for decoration. Wow I love that idea! Im on my way now to make my "Patriots Padded"! Red Sox padded will have to wait 'till late September. I'm not too happy with them right now.

I do this, but I do special orders. just have a backpack with all padded resources in it and made segements with extremely low encumbrance. Have even made special orders using the low end NS layers to reduce encumbrance to almost zero. People want padded armor because of the colors and it looks cool, minus the hat. But with padded armor's huge range of color you might lose money possibly by guessing the style they want. But I sell a lot of all black, or black/dark grey, blue/black and black/pink so stocking them wouldn't hurt.

Tecar im totaly with ya bud,
If u enjoy makin padded, as I do. Have some customers gather someof the resources for ya. As with the new Kash hunting armor. When I recieve an email or /tell, I tel them to get me 2k of Tat wooly and 2k of the other hide. (II forget what it is) Obviously the other resources are fairly easy.
