Welcome to two days ago. Everyone knows. People are mad. I don't care one way or another. Next time it might help to read the boards before you post common knowledge.

And something that needs to be reminded of everyone. The changes that are currenlty listed on Test Center are less then 48 hours old. The first line in the post is ....
These are the Test Center Patch Notes and are subject to change
before publish 10 is pushed to live servers.
The DEVs have not touched anything over the weekend and will more than likely not have anything updated on Test Center until 2-4 PM PST on Monday. Publish 10 will be on TC for some time now - at least 2 to 4 weeks. During this time, the residents of TC, the Correspondents, and the community at large will hammer out some changes to the current situation with the Merchant Profession.
Will there be unlimited items still? Most likely not. Will the current numbers be tweaked before this Publish hits Live? Most certainly. Changes just don't automatically happen over night, especially over the weekend. Rest assured though, the Merchant limititations will be adjusted before this Publish hits Live.

Yay the devs.
The same folks who were opposed to harvester certs a while back of course oppose this needed limitation upon oligopolies. This should surprise no one.
The devs are finally starting to do right by the casual crafter.

Some theorize that by limiting the items people can sell, people will have to chose to specialize in certain product lines.
A weaponsmith may choose to just do marksman weapons, another may do melee weapons, another advance commando bh and limited use schematic weapons. No one could efficiently do factory runs of all weapons and sell them on a vendor with an item limit of 660.
By forcing specialization you spread the wealth. Instead of the one 12 point weaponsmith being a multi-millionaire, you would have a few millionaire weaponsmiths.
Personally, I think we may eventually get to something like this. But I think the short term pain is going to be terrible. Hundreds of thousands of items will be deleted. People will be looking for merchants to sell their stuff before it goes away, but merchants will be struggling to get their own inventories within the limits. Resource prices will go through the roof. No one will want to stock grind quality resources with low profit margins. Some of the best most established crafters may just quit the game.
In the end it could be a good thing. But getting there is really really going to be horrible.

well I gotta give the bonehead of the year award to who ever came up with this "revamp" this will lead to one thing a crappy selection in every vendor (hell most are empty now) as well as making sure all master crafters will continue to get rich off special orders while all of us who depend on our vendors to make us a living not just hold 5special orderswill get screwed. The only way I can get my goods out there as a beggining armorsmith and tailor is to have a good selection of clothes and armor so my customers can find the colors and styles they want, this little change in plans screws my whole career path takes away all my fun and basically ruins the gameplay for me totally. This has gotten me totally bummed and I am a lil tired of the other professions gettin taken care of by the devs while they want to do no good for us just steal our way to survive. hey devs how bout makin a marksman who can only shoot 50 times a day, sounds stupid well so is an artisan with 50 items in his vendor. Just so folk see my numbers I got field wear 2 and am up to tantel with no side bars filled, and I have close to 1000 items in four vendors. If you put this through I'm done with SWG, I'm tired of everytime I put some time n energy into a game someone makes it "better" by ruining the fun of it!!!! Not to mention how the hell can a master merchant be that with a 650 item cap atleast give the folk who get master merchant all the breathin room they need so the artisans out there can atleast sell to and through them.
this is a horrible Idea that will only hurt those it's supposed to help.
Why Devs why ruin our profession why don't you help us.
It might be the end it's in your hands whether you keep this game fun or keep revamping professions into the ground.
well think what ya want do what ya will but I don't pay money to folk that ruin why I play a game... give us our fun
