Does Assembly help with experimentation success rates or just the initial?

just assembly of the item. Not sure if the tapes work or not, but I only get about 1 failure a night with my assembly clothes on.

I thinkarmor assembly skill modsalso help in the number of sockets that the item gets. When I make Ubese as a 4/3/0/4 'smith on Shadowfire I get pieces with zero sockets more often then I'd like, since I won't sell unsocketed armor. One and two sockets are pretty common, and three and four fairly rare for me. Compare that to my Ubese set on Ahazi, which was hand crafted by a master and has three or four sockets on every piece. I don't think it's my materials, since I hit 70% kinetic on the Ubese.

I'm not a armorsmith, but I happened to loot a bandolier with +4 armor assembly on it. What is that for? is it worth anything, monetary wise to any of you? How would this help out? What is it used for? Again, I'm not an armorsmith, but I would like to understand your profession, and as a master smuggler, perhaps make a buisiness associate and friend that could call upon me when needed, and whom I could call upon. Thanks

Assembly is used for the initial combine.A higher assembly skill means it's less likely to fail the combine. Assembly modifiers are less likely to get you a barrel of credits, but it is still worth alot.
