I know most of y'all don't care about encumbrance so most of you wouldn't have experimented on the "Experimental Durability" line to notice this rather exceptional anomoly.
Experimenting on the "Experimental Durability" does bring down the encumbrance (even less per point that any other armor), but it doesn't touch condition at all. To raise condition, unlike with -any- other armor, you need to experiment on the "Experimental Resistance Line". This is borked.
Now that they altered the encumbrance to bring Kash Hunting in line with Composite, it might become heaps more noticable if your customers want lower encumbrance and higher condition (not possible to have both with decent resists).
I have been meaning to write something about this for a while and have actually been amazed no one else has even noticed it. I can hit 80% kinetic without touching the Experimental Resistance line, so I have been going for lower encumbrance and I have noticed it.

Noticed the same thing, and the added encumbrance on the 9.3 chest plates (because they forgot to include the HEAD into the encumbrance) makes it more imperative to spend my last 4 points (12-pt smith) on Durability rather than Experimental Resistance. The armor starts off with 34k condition on average anyway, but I'll always ask my live customers which way they want it. Vendor armor will always have it geared towards lower encumbrance.

Actually it's not unlike ANY other armor. Comp works the same way. Condition is governed by the 3rd line (experimental resistance) in the final combine, and HAM by durability, again, this is only for the final combine with composite.

Yep. I used to make comp where I put my last point into special instead of durability. It has the same effect on bringing the specials to where they're supposed to be, but raises condition. The few encumbrance points per piece do add up though.

As a general note I think I'd much rather have higher condition than lower encumbrance. This armor decays at rocket speeds due to the multiple areas it covers (head and chest are two major areas). But that's just me...
A good question to ask is why they combine head and chest in one piece and don't increase the condition to double the default? I mean, we have a 40k condition where any other armor wearers have 4x40k (where head and chest are the big ones). How is this "equal footing"?

wellI know on the final combine of RIS, experimenting on special increases condition

NO, it is not the same.
Watch the numbers change (or not). Put points into the Durability line and the condition raises on Composite and every other armor. Put points into the Durability line on Kash Hunting and the numbers DO NOT change for condition. I'm not talking anything about the resists, yes, experimenting on -resists- is identical to Composite.
Funny thing, I could have sworn something -durable- would have an increased condition... I mean.. if I was expecting the English language to have any influence whatsoever on words used.
Kash Hunting is borked in this respect.

Perhaps we're refering to different stages?
On the final combine for composite, when you put experimentation points into the special section, it raises the condition (perhaps special as well...I've never tried to get better electric). I've only done this after getting the base to where I want it, because of the adjustment to resists. I agree...it's messed up.
In my experience with it, hunting armor experiments the same as composite. I haven't noticed if experimenting on special resist raises condition, as I haven't used that line.
Not sure about padded. I do know that there's an "adjustment" to the special resist by placing a finalpoint into dura or special after experimenting base. Just like comp.
On the layers and segs, it appears to work as it should. An experiment in durability will raise the condition.

Refer to the Tailored wookie clothingbefore the wookie armor. Aside from the bracers, they kept the body and leggings the same (wookie hood and leggings). You are correct though, you condition deteriorates since there aren't enough pieces to even out the damage. But when's the last time (in PVP) have you ever been hit in multiple parts of your body? Usually you are spammed in one or 2 places

RIS armor got the same thing .... If you experiment on the special protection you also get a lot of Condition extre .... and where you normal experiment on condition an Enc only the Enc wil get lower.
Exact the same on wook Hunting Armor
Exact the same on wook Hunting Armor

We've been down this road before, and I'm not getting into this debate with you again.
