If i have a jacket with +11 assembly can i use that until i assemble and thenequip one with experimentation on right before i hit experiment or does it take your mods into account only when you first open the crafting tool.

A good way to check, is to make a maberi segment ( just some metal needed). Put on your assembly suit and hit assemble. Now, BEFORE you hit the top bar ( experiment, prototype, schematic), swap your suit. Then hit the experiment bar. Ifthe screencomes up with extra points, then it works, if it doesn't then it won't.

I'll just verify what Kiradon said, can't switch mid-craft. Really sucks when I forget to put my hat on sometimes and lose a exp. point!

good question. the answer is no. if i screw up and go into experimentation phase without my suit on, i get 10 points. it doesn't update. so you'll need to save sockets for the assembly, or use that shirt to add to exp, or just use higher tapes, and use no other mods in that shirt. good luck
