I've been a Master Armorsmith for just over 2 weeks now, and am currently just biding my time, collecting all the resources I need & crafting some ubese. However,in that time I have come up with an idea, but was wondering if it would actually be possible to create the armor I plan to.

I hope that soon I will be able to craft composite armor that has 1energy & 1kinetic layer, and have the armor experimented on to bring it up to 80% Energy & 80% Kinetic. This would be purely PvE armor, hence the two most common damage types. Also, since the segments only require 2 layers, a) the encumb will be lower, b) it will be cheaper to make, andc) with 2 factories, I can run off a set of eachlayer inathird of thetime it takes to run off 3 kinetic layers for 1 segment.

I aim to sell this for cheaper also, so people can easily buy a suit of PvE armor at a good price, which will helps new players especially. Currently armor costs a lot for an average set, even an unlayered set (imho, a least).

So, my question to you fellow smiths, is this possible or should I aim for a new dream? I fear that I will not be able to cap out my resists at 80%with simply one layer of each type.

Thanks

This is very possible to do, but it all depends on the resources you have available to you. If you can hit 69-70% base or better with triple layered kinetic or energy, it should be a breeze. Several smiths on my server have done this and the armor is quite popular as people are guranteed 80% protection against the two most common damage types.

Note that many (if not all) of the folks that make this armor use 3 layers to beef up the base and thus ensure hitting 80s on kinetic, energy, and by default, electricity. Again, depending on what resources you have available, you might be able to pull it off.

Good luck!
