What kind of base eff. is possible using 18% base eff. rancor padded armor segments with high quality resources?

With my resources, I can make 80%kin/51%base layered padded. With 18% rancor padded segments, it would be 45-46%base.

You're better off going with the crafted adv. padded armor segment with some kind of good enhancer for the base like janta hide or rancor hide. Even vortior scales can work well with a kin/energy layer combo. Even using 4% NS layers and 4% janta hide would yield a nice high base, low enc. suit. You'll need to get rancor segments in the 25% range before they are worth doing anything with.

I have a couple sets of 34% base segments, what kind of results would they possibly yeild?

It depends on what you want to do with it. For me, and my crafter buddies, this rancor enhanced padded armor is fantastic. I can easily wear an entire sliced set even if I only get a couple pieces enc sliced. I end up with a suit that has about 40-50%protection to most things, and vuln to stun/acid. It has saved me many times while Im checking on my harvesters...and it looks spiffy.

Probably in the upper 50s-mid 60s depending on your resources. I had 3 46%base segments and made a pair of legs that were 70%base (got an enc slice...bummer).
