Thread: Removing Armor Certification Requirements from Boots and Gloves

Since the CU, Boots and Gloves have no protection assigned to them at all, so I was wondering why not remove the certification requirements from these items? This would allow armor boots and gloves to be worn by anyone, regardless of profession or combat level, providing more flexibility and variety to the possible looks for any given character.

Seriously, who cares?

There are tons of bug more important to fix first imo.

1. Obviously, I care, or I wouldn't have posted.

2. Yes, there are more important things that should (and hopefully would) get addressed first, but this is one of those things that could go way down on the "we got nothing better to do, so let's do this stuff" list.

I'm rifle, so I can wear Mabari... but if I couldn't... Mabari boots and gloves are the ones I want to wear. Pre-CU I even had two pair of boots (one white, one black) with NightSister enhancements that were zero encumberence to wear for dancing.

It should be done.

Thanks for posting, Sighryn. Even if nothing ever comes of this, it is nice to know that I'm not the only person out there who would like to see this done.

Why on earth would we not be able to make a full set of armor? Even though gloves and boots have no stats, they are still armor, and shouldn't be taken away from us. I don't see why we should ask for something that a. makes no sense, b. serves no useful purpose towards advancement of the game, and c. pales in the face of the game-breaking issues faced by our profession today. While thinking of the future of the armorsmith is still important, quite frankly I don't think this would fit in that future, and we should propably keep trying to deal with the problems of today.

And I like making gloves and boots.

And Flackmar is a freakin pimp.

That is all.

I think what the original poster meant was for the ceritfication restriction to be removed from boots and gloves, not the boots and gloves given to tailors to make.

I think this is a great idea. Not like they use any cores or have armor condition and then my rifleman friends can atleast wear 2 pieces of RIS

I agree also. Know many dancers on my server love to use padded boots in their outfits.... yet if they don't have the certs then they can't wear them. Leave the AS making them but remove the profession certs... if they don't remove the certs.... give them their protection back again. What is the point of using them otherwise.... other than to complete an outfit!

I wish I were a pimp. I'd be selling more than I am now since factional armor is borked.

But, I'm not entirely sure what you mean.
