Thread: Hi to all my fellow armoursmiths
Welcome to the community.
The statements below really have no bearing on the "power gamers". As I see it, there is no "winner" in this game. First and foremost...have fun in what you do. I didn't get into the armor business to make tons of money. I thought it would be fun and provide challenges to make good stuff. I was right. I'm also not going to be a slave to my customers. This may result in fewer sales, but I can live with what I'm doing. My goal is to create good armor that the average person can wear.

First - If you're going to grind anything AND can get the hides, Mabari chests are the way to go. The amount of exp per piece helped save my sanity.
Second - There's a perfectly good market for EXPERIMENTED Mabari. Once I hit the 0004, I always made sure to keep the Bazaar stocked with full suits of it. For 19% (not too hard to do), I was getting around 10kper suitand selling a few to several per day. It kept the harvesters running and made the experience much more fun.
Third - After the tech tree, do the first one (can't remember how it's refered to) and start making Adv. segments for your Mabari. If you've been taking some time to experiment on stuff, you'll know why after the first one you do.
Forth - Have fun. Sometimes I stop worrying with armor and went hunting/exploring. It's not going to go anywhere.
That's because I'm a NOOB at posting. I was trying to quote the previous post. It didn't come out like I wanted it to.
Also, I should clarify that PSG's are great, but you have to work around them. You can sell lots of them if you educate people about them. It just is very hard to sell them on the bazaar.
i totally disagree with the second point. as far as i can see there is NO market for anything besides chitin, ubease and comp.

What exactly are you disagreeing with? The statement that Mabari is sellable or that I sold several suits per day?
I'll assume the first part, as there's no way you can refute the second.
That being the case, it must be server dependent (I'm on Kettemoor). If it is I feel bad for the starting smiths on your server. It really added some fun to get the mail saying the stuff was sold.
btw - As a master, I still make some Mabari and put it on bazaar. I only do this if there isn't any there that's been experimented. I want to give the guys starting a chance to sell some. When a sale is made, I send the buyer a mail thanking them, telling them about stuff on my vendor and provide the WP to the vendor. I've found it to be a great way to advertise. Currently, I can get the base to 25%+. Any noob that's just started killing gorgs will attest to how much it helps.
Mabari will sell if properly priced on the bazaar. Most of what is there is generic 5% stuff in the generic colors. Sure, nobody wants that for more than 500 credits.Experiment the Base up, and change the colors and it will always sell. Once I got further up the tech tree, I could sell it for about 2-3k per chest. I sold lots of Mabari as I ground up various trees. Once I hit 1-0-0-3 I stopped running missions, and just made Chitin after that. There is definitely a market in a busy city for the lower armors. Once I was making 30%/15% Chitin, I sold it for 6k/3k....and made a nice profit off of it.
Mabari is a great Newb armor....no matter what people say. Even at 10% base, it stops 55% of most creature damage. Chitin fills in the holes pretty well beyond that, with 30% Kinetic Chitin stopping 65% of damage.
Try this, when you set up your macro, leave one of the creations off of PRACTICE. Give it more time, and actually make the item with experimentation and all. Then after a long session of grinding, you should have about 20 of those items. Sell them on the bazaar to make back some of your input. As a novice, there is no reason to have less than your limit of 25 items on the bazaar.
Another thing I did alot of. If you are running survey missions as outlined around here for good money as a novice.....use NumLock to auto-run, then start your macro. Sure, you don't make cash nearly as quick as using a vehicle, but you get xp and cash at the same time. Pretty good for a Novice.
