Thread: Segment Enhancers?

What are they and how do I make them? I'm currently a 3/1/0/1 AS and I can add low level kenetic armor segments, but I can't seem to figure what "segment enhancers" are. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks.

As far as I know, they are loot drops on NPCs or critters. You can't make them

Creatures like Krayt Dragons, Kimogilas, Sharnaffs, Rancors, Voritors, etc. drop two different kinds of armorsmithing loot. They drop segments and plates or scales. The segments are usually junk, they offer different resists, for example Voritor Segments are used in bone armor and offer a Kinetic resist but the energy resist is substandard.


I personally use:


Rancor Hides (these add about as much encumbrance as a layer, they increase base, cold, and heat)


Nightsister Layers (these are actually layers that improve the base protection and actually reduce encumbrance)


Nightsister Shards (these are enhancers that reduce encumbrance)


Janta Hides (enhancers that improve base without increasing encumbrance)


Voritor Scales (increase Energy and Kinetic but add encumbrance)


Kliknick Segments and Krayt Dragon Segments in my opinion (customers don't like armor made with either) are neat because you make the armor, the resists aren't top-of-the-line but the encumbrance is Very good.

Cool, thanks eveyone. I had heard people toalking about loot drops from nasty creatures, but I had no idea what they were for.
