Hi All,
I recently became able to make tantel Armor. Seeing that it's base resistance is low (I managed to get 14% base with 5 experimentation points) I decided to learn how to make kinetic layers and put one in. To my great disappointment the armor with the kinetic layer is way worse. I expected that the kinetic value would be something like base + extra protection form the kinetic layer. Instead I got the kinetic value as a special protection and higher HAM (as expected) but it was only 4% so I am worse of while it costs more to make. Am I doing something completely wrong or do kinetic layers just not work properly on Tantel? Makes it quite useless that you can add a special protection layer.
Anyone who can shed some light on this issue?
Thanks,
Firioc

You wont be able to do anything with it realy until your master. And by then you'll realize that tantel sucks and is worthless
(Except for the fact that the helmet is pimp)
Cruel fact of life, but you really have to be master armorsmith to compete at all.

Tantel is wonkey. You can't layer it like normal and have it be additive. Energy layers with high base is the only choice.
Tantel is show stuff, the helm is nifty (and I wear it by choice with my Padded armor), but the armor is not complete.

Thanks for your comments,
Good to now it is not me.
About being competitive, I see that lots of people just grind to master but I sort of made armor and then sold it off. I grinded only one box because I was donated so much synthetic cloth and I couldn't store it so I had to process it in mabari chest plates. Otherwise I made quite a bit of money by selling mediocre chitin. It takes longer but it is absolutely possible. I am now 3103 and I am very sure that by selling more of that chitin and now even Ubese I will be able to master it without going for a big grind.
Cheers,

i wear tantel +geo bone combo to survey in.. Keeps the badies from killing me in one shot and low encum.. I also can survey and sample nonstop with just a drink of brandy and accro... what ever beverages.
Yea, though energy is the only layer that is worth using,, got 8 crates of stun layered thats useless : (
Besides with bone+tantel you wont look like a clone,.,. people say to me all the time, wow love the armor or i get laughed at for wearing bone,, but either way its all good. /grin

Personally, I love Tantel, and when I start grinding faction points I'm going to be using that with ubese gloves, because with the gloves and tantel suit I have no armor holes...I think (I'm a zabrak).

A guy on the farstar server has made 45% Tantel using NS layers and Rancor hide.... The Rancor hide made heat and cold special - thus they went down to like 10% ish resists, but 45% to everything else.... Then he got an encumbrance slice

I just like the helmetreminds me of Lando's helmet in Return of the Jedi when they snuck into Jabba's Palace to rescue Han. I'd think about wearin 1 just for looks.

There's a 52% base sliced Tantel Helm on display in Mashedville cantina. 52% stun on it
