Armorsmith vendors should be able to offer repairs on armour, like a parking garage. I find myself running around the entire server asking for a master armorsmith, and when I finally find one. We start talking until I ask nicely if he could repair my armor, and then my tells are ignored. Why should I have to waste my time running around trying to find someone to repair my armour when NPC's or Vendors would be a lot more convient.

Armorsmiths have no better chance of repairing armor then you do. Only the quality of the tools counts.

What he said ^^
We have no bonus to repairing until the devs say otherwise (and even then I don't think I'd believe it), just get a good repair tool and cross your fingers.

^ What them 2 said ^
Plus, not too many smiths won't repair armor that they didn't make.

The most askt quition to an AS I think
always have to explain that we dont have any skills for it and give them an 100% repair tool

According to Thunderheart's last tuesday tip weaponsmiths have an advantage when repairing. So there is a chance that armorsmiths do to.

There is a chance...And if that's the case there's an equal chance (i.e. 100%) that both weaponsmith and armorsmith bonuses are broken like oh-so-many other things.

There's also a chance that when you attempt to repair your armor, it morphs into a Giant Dune Kimo and it gobbles you up in one bite.
Not a good chance, but a chance.

With my own armour, i offer free repairs to all that bring me them. i see it as part of the price they paid.
like a lifetime garantee.
when i repair other smiths armour, i sometimes charge a small amount.

Personally I think there is something that Armorsmiths get, its called experience. I have been a Armorsmith Masterfor over 3 months now and I regularly repair armor for 5k on Bria. What I have discovered is if you follow a few certain rules players included in most cases you can avoid failure or criticals with armor repairs. How do you do this, you might ask.. First you wait until the armor piece has decayed to at least 50%, and or the stats on the armor have started to drop or are close to do so. That's all, in my three months I have had two criticals in I don't know how many pieces... Being a AS, I think does help how much I am not sure, it also hasa lot todo with the constructed piece and what the averageofDR was being used in its construction. I use padded almost extensively, and pieces in high durabilitycan be repaired upto 4 or 5 times during its life. However, if youtake a low DR constructed piece you have a higher chance of failure and you can probably get a max of 3 repairs from it. So I think that repair bya Armorsmith does hold some value and do not mind repairing armor..

Ur best bet is to invest in some good tools and repair it urself. I have yet to notice a difference in repair results. From what i have seen and heard u have as good a chance of repairing armor as we do.

there was a test run within the weaponsmith community a while back with someething like 500 repairs and as there was no statistical differance btwn the non-weaponsmith repairs and the master weaponsmith repairs.
of corse these thread was deleated then reposted and deleated again because it pointed out the lies.

It was said that weaponsmiths have a small (or it might have been tiny) increase in the chance to repair. Small could be 1%. 1% greater chance on a completely random dice roll does not affect it in any significant manner.
I generally have high quality repair tools on my vendor for a very cheap price (500 credits for the single 5-use tool and crates of various sizes).
WHEN I am not busy, I will repair if asked. However, I have become too busy most of the time to take the 10 mins to repair someone else's armor. 10 mins, you might ask. Yes, 10 mins. I have to leave my crafting room to go to my armor tent and then wait for the person to show up who said he was "at the tent" (oh no, wait, I'm in Coronet getting on a shuttle... or I'm leaving Dantooine now). When the person is there, I have to wait for him to acknowledge the trade, put the items into the trade window (have it cancelled because he forgot to unequip the item first or has it in a backpack or simply has left the trade window open too long without offering anything). Once I finally get the items, it takes me just a few quick clicks to repair. I offer them back and have to wait again for the person to acknowledge the trade window. Then... I get the inevitable complaints about how the armor is lower condition now (even on "minor blemish" repairs, the condition does lower) or how he didn't think it was possible a master armorsmith can fail on a repair... etc. 10 mins. 10 mins I could be spending doing thing I like to do, like make armor. 10 mins I jsut have to stand around at the beck and call of someone else who doesn't have the slightest courtesy to realise my time is valuable, too.
I have become cynical.
Oh... and I will never do repairs in Coronet. The lag there kills me (and I am on a much lower pop server....)
