ok so it looks like to me like there are two different types of composite armor.
http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=setandget&tp=231607&poll_id=0&category_id=19&warned=y
This one says its assault and it doesnt ahve any energy resist
http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=230602
This one says reccon. and it seems to have resist to everything.
So is there are there different kinds of composite for different types of classes?

Is it possible that assault and recon have the same appearance? Like many I was assuming we would have a visual differentation to make it easier to pick your targets depending on your damage type. But perhaps the idea is to remove first strike by forcing everyone to do an area attack, or to hit everyone once until you find someone with a non-resistant armour type?
Besides, this is the PVE armour. Maybe everyone will still look like clones and walk around in compo regardless of which type it is.

if resists are no longer percentages, how exactly does it work? is it that if the kinitec resist is 1300, and the person hits for 1400, then the target receives 100 damage? or is it something else...

Because they won't be in the TC yet, the testing for armor is inconclusive.
However, consider this possibility:
You might be able to loot armor that you normally otherwise would not be able to wear. For instance, the Recon composite.
That would make things VERY interesting.

hmmmm good question. that means you have to do more than 1300 pts of damage even to consider attacking the target, yikes for the noobs!

It kinda makes me think that maybe when the Cu goes live your gonna be able to change ur composite into the type of armor you want. That would seem like a fair way to covert composite armor.
