Thread: Expert advice needed
First of all let me start by saying I do not want composite armor, and I hear that padded isn't great either, what is important is that I look good in whatever I end up with, so composite or padded helms seem to be my only option. ![]()
Now here's what I want, I need a full set of armor with really low HAM. I don't really care about resists as much as the encumberance. I also don't mind if the armor doesn't match just as long as the end result looks good. The armor will be used mostly for PvE against NPCs however I do fight creatures and engage in PvP from time to time.
I also want to be able to wear a full set of the armor, you can't get this with composite, so it doesn't matter if its layered or not, again resists don't matter too much. With that said I would like it to have as few vulerabilities as possible (I hear that tantel can be made with none, but it doesn't come in a full suit and the helm is ugly). I am willing to sacrifice looks and encumberance for resists vulerabilities.
So if someone could tell me what it is that I'm looking for (cause you crafting types seem to be pretty good mind readers) I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
p.s.: In a couple of weeks I'll be here again asking for just the opposite. ![]()

The lowest HAM costs are going to be Mabari armor. And alot of smiths out there can make some with good resists. Of course the problem with Mabari is that it has more vulnerabilities than some of the "higher" suits. But for 90% of your PvE, it should provide some good protection, especially with your light armor rating vs no armor piercing.
Another good suggestion would be Chitin or Ubese. These sap your HAMs more than Mabari, but in general most people can wear a full set of it no problem. They also have high kinetic resists and less vunerabilities (with Ubese having one less than Chitin), which is very good in PvE. They're good grinding armors.
You're correct, Tantel does have fewer vulnerabilities, and since you don't care about the shifting resists, it might be the way to go. It's also very light (only a little heavier than Mabari).
Due to the 'stat shift' effect on tantel, you wouldnt really want that.
The effectivness and vulnerabilities of tantel randomly appear and disappear when youre wearing the armour, meaning that it may be protecting against kinetic one minute, then it may bea vulnerability the next (when you change a server or whatever, it doesnt actually shift completely randomly)
The only static resist on tantel is the energy resist (I think) its special protection. Apartently there was a method to fix the stat shiftsby using a different layer, but im unsure myself if this method actually works or not)
Ok, I really don't want to make anyone mad at me for saying this so remember two things: First I am not an armorsmith. Second: I care more about looks and encumberance than anything else at this point. No,w that said:
The shifting stat thing shoulds really really cool!
I have read about it in the past and while I agreeit isa major problem that should have been fixed a looong time ago and I sympathize with your plight...I need to get some before they change it! Cause the more I hear about it, the more I like it. (I know I'm strange, I bumped my head when I was a child).
Thanks for the input, keep it coming this is really helping out.
Cap for SAC is 65 for pistols.
For damage, we don't experiment min and max damage seperately. Experimenting the damage line rise min and max damage.
If you offer the 2 others shards has a payment, i as a WS would accept with pleasure

I tried it once too and it does. I can't really see the point in doing it though.
well the min damage will be higher. But the cost to get it higher is so high it's a shame to use the points on it.

Agreed. After capping the damage, the rest of the points would be best spent on SAC reduction.
I agree, that is how i usually go on my crafting, unless the customer asked for SAC first then max SAC and throw the rest into dmg till capped then speed.
