I recently came back to the game and found some Nightsister armor shards and janta hides in one of my old packs. What are these used for? I looted these pre-CU, but I don't know if that makes any difference...

Thanks for any info you can give me!

The NS Shards are used in Reconn armor, and highly sought after, all the pre-CU ones were converted to give a +15 health bonus.

The Janta Hides are used in Battle armor, and not in that high of a demand as +15 Rancor Hides (Assault armor) or NS Shards. Pre-CU Janta Hides converted with a +10 health bonus. Krayt Scales are also used in battle armor, and pre-Cu krayt scales converted to +15 health bonus.

Currently the ability to actually add the health bonus into armor pieces is BROKEN, hope they fix it soon.

BTW, obtaining NS Shards, Rancor Hides, Krayt Scales with a +15 health bonus is very difficult post-CU, so all those Pre-CU ones are nice to have.

They add a health bonus when crafted into armor. It says on the the piece how big the bonus is and for what type of armor it is. Health bonuses worked fine right after the CU, but they broke them and BE tissue with publish 18. Hang onto them until the issue is resolved.

Thank you for the info! You guys are quick

I'll check on the stats of them when i get home from work. I just remember seeing them and not really knowing what they were used for. I had heard that they broke the BE tissues, but was not aware that it affected armor also. Obivously I'm not a crafter lol.

Anyone know if there is an intent to add the health bonuses to armor that was crafted with the enhancements? I wanted my first set of RIS to be special, so I plugged in some +15 krayt enhancements. Might be too much to hope for, but it'd be nice to log on one morning and see that the armor is showing the health bonus.

I went home and checked those NS armor shards and they were all +20 health bonuses, not that any of those are working at this point. The Janta Hide was +10. I also found a bunch of heavy duty leather, can that be used for armor or is that only for tailors?

Again, thank you all so much for the info!

I believe the looted heavy duty leather is used in the crafters apron.

Still wondering why we can have one with AS mods on it too
