Hey... no complaints about wookie armour, I am happy to have it, was happy to have the first set.

However with the hunting armour I just plopped down 325k credits for a suit (no complaints either). after about 3 buff sessions my armour is in need of repair as its almost down 75% of the condition and its a little above 25% condition left.

the chest plate takes hits from the chest/head/right bicep/left bicep. The Leggings takes hits from the feet/legs. The Bracers take hits from the forearm/hands.

Unless I am mistaken the chest plate is getting POUNDED and it only has about same condition as comp armour, but takes 4x as much damage. Would it be possible to get a small boost to the condition of wookiee armour or is this something we have to live with?

At this point all I can hope for is a good repair with my 99.9 tools.

huh, what was the original condition of your armor? Mine is 36k, down 2 25k in about a week. Not to shabby for constantly hunting very hard hitting mobs.

I've also heard alot about the new wookiee armor decaying quickly - Im still looking to see if it is a resource thing or if its how wook armor is supposed to be for the hunting sets.

Havent heard that problem with Black Mountain sets yet

I made a few test sets for my customers and with kinetic special buffed all the way for maxarmor pointsor any other combination and with rare and expensive resources it seemed to go down just as fast. Again like said before the armor is covering to much area for so little armor points repairs are needed every so many days depending on how often you hunt and armorsmiths will be cranking them as fast as they can poor resources or not to make up for the destroyed and backup armor wookies will need. My bigest complaint and im not a wookiee is this very issue.

Poor wooks buy mine from 275k-350k depending on the type but im always sold out. I cannot make any extra's and keep them in stock and I have a massive reserve list so im pointing wookiee's to other smiths but I feel guilty since all the other known smiths in my area seem to make only 80 kin armor and sell them for 450k where as my set price is 275k.

My biggest question to most creature hunters out there is:

Why wear armor when you are buffed?

You are just destroying good armor for no good reason and wasting your money.

Now if you are fighting 5 at once then the armor would help out there. If you fight humanoids with blasters, you will typically fight more than one at a time. Unless, of course, you fight one at a time. But then that leads to my previous question, why wear armor if you are buffed?

The price of invulnerability is to burn credits for fun. To fight with tactics will save you a lot ofcredits, but may not be fun enough.

35-38k down to about 10-15k, is that decay rate normal? this being my first set of real armour......

In three days after the wookiee armor I had a few guys saying "UH My armor gone... I have been fighting rancors Non Stop" I so wanted to tell him thats why you have blown through the suit in 3 days....

As it stands now I cant keep up production on the armors... lol

I sell so many of them and dont get secondary Hide Market sales that I cant keep up with out armor paddings..

its frustrating me a lot... not being able to make the armor... and I am getting behind... And I get a lot of wookiees asking for my hunting armors...

I have people asking for black mountain and I just dont have the lots/resouces/time to go out and get all the resouces for Black Mountain...

Not sure if it's what's causing it...

But I notice that too often, people wear the wrong armor for given situations. Ex: Wearing ubese while fighting NPC's armed with energy weapons...good way to trash a set of ubese really quickly.

If your armor is 80% kinetic, that's perfect for fighting hard-hitting kinetic mobs, but if they're also blasting you with ranged acid attacks, expect a big drop in armor condition. The problem with being buffed is that you don't notice big non-kinetic hits getting through your armor. Ie...it's not hurting you much, but in the meantime, your armor is being shredded.

...just my thoughts

I have started a Design of Hunting Armor thats close to 80kin its 78% right now.. and 78%Enegry restant..

Took this armor into the DWB last night... WOW... Theres a good amount of Energy and Kinetic Down there... and I was able to stand toe to toe for a few seconds (well long enough to get a TANK) with an SBD... and that was such a blast... Then getting hit by a few energy blasts made the armor super nice...

I am looking forward to mass production on this Hunting armor...

I just need to get more segments and layers cooked up... I was really just testing it last night...

What about creating a barter system for the wooks that use it? Say 150k of any of the top three machine harvestable resources, or 50k of any of the top three creature harvestable resources gets a free suit? For the cost of novice scout a wookiee has the capacity to haul in any of the resources required in good quantity. If wookiees want the armor to remain in constant supply at an affordable price then they will have to work to keep the armorsmiths well stocked in the resources, no reason anyone else will do it, at least not cheaply. I see no reason an armorsmith who crafts mainly for his wookiee clients should have such difficulty motivating them to hunt for what is required.

In some ways I agree totally with you. I'm a master armorsmith on one character, and a wookie on the other. I made some ceremony armor, and had about 30% kinetic resists, and the rest put to condition..so it was very long lasting armor. I used that for a long long time, even while buffed, and had no problems. Probably a good 3 weeks now and my armor is around 1/2 condition, with no repairs. I can't complain too much about that.

For me now, I'm keeping my normal usage in mind when creating armor. For example, I only hunt animals - so kinetic protection is a must. I apply to about 80% kinetic, the secondaries don't matter, and apply the rest to condition. Because of this, I get about 40-44k condition. That's darn good. I still use smart tactics in fighting, for example just bringing out one or two critters, instead of 7-8. It depends on what I'm hunting.

As far as armor while buffed...I do agree on that some. Armor isn't really necessary against most MOBs, but against nightsisters, or rancors, being buffed isn't good enough. Reading here, people are saying that the armor isn't lasting in some fighting - but it is for me. I took my worst armor I've made since the new armor hit, 32k condition, and wore it for about 3 hours hunting. I lost about 200-400 condition TOTAL, that's even fighting a kimo and a lot of higher level mobs. I had that armor only at 50's-60's% kinetic resist though, but still...after that long, people are saying a 25% reduction in condition - which I'm not seeing really.

I went hunting rancors today for fun. I went after quite a few enraged, and enraged bull rancors today. For about 2 hours of hunting, and having 4 on me at once many times, my armor condition degraded 2k.

I'm not sure why mine is doing better than everyone elses...I was almost incaped many times in those fights, was being hit very hard, and armor condition at a total amount now is about 2k lower - and I've been wearing it since the day they came out, in every fight.

I do agree on some parts, that different parts - like a helmet, arms, and chest would be nice. that way, I could only wear a helmet if I wanted. Sometimes all I need when buffed is a helmet to survive. I think the devs did this to make sure our encumb was really high. I mean, if a wookie puts all stats into body, and wears a helmet - that wookie is pretty strong. I think by linking most of these pieces together, you don't get what many others with composite do - wear a robe, and a helmet for fighting.
