Can wookiees wear the new faction armours? and how does wookiee armour resists (post CU) compare with non-wookiee armours

To quote a good friend of mine (ICly of course)

"Wookiees do not use Armor. Wookiees are used AS armor."

Wookiees can't wear the new factional armors, however, their armor is now on par with every other crafted armor.
