You friend does know that you can make Cores right? You don't have to rely on Looted ones. As a matter of fact I have yet to see a looted Core that is actually worth putting into Armor.
To make Chest, Head and Leggins you need cores that are identical so single looted cores are only good for making the 4 arm slots.

Actually, I have many stacked advanced assault cores. My stacks range from 6 to 8 identical cores. Kinetic value is 6000-6500.
I can throw 50 grind quality wooly hides, 50 grind quality solid petrochemical, a synthetic cloth, areinforced fiberplast panel,and a couple looted advanced assault cores and make 6500 kinetic assault armor. This is far superior to anything I have converted.
Conversely, I can go through the hassle of buying resources, or waiting a year to restock my horde or resources, deal with increased factory times, and produce something that probably won't be but 2% better with the diminishing returns.

good point. If you are pulling 6500 K then I would say go for it.

True, but you can't do it in any large quantities or with consistent stats. If you don't sell more than a suit or three per day then I guess it is a viable option if you have a lot of hunters.

So this means that you must use looted cores to make other cores? I was thinking along the terms of Armorsmith cores from scratch, not enhancing a naturally occuring core. She made it sound as if there is schematics for scratch-made cores however that the resources hide so deep they have yet to imerge. The type of cores I am reading from this thread sounds like enhancing a core. I mean are you guys having alot of success in making scratch-made cores yourself, or if you understand what I am asking, are you guys having absolute zero problems recovering such needed resources.
Let me rephrase my question. Finding/buying/scavenging naturally occuring(looted) cores is insanely time consuming and can be costly. Case in point : damaged cores, especially damaged singular cores, they do not profess damage unless you attempt to use it. One would say, "Who in the world would use a singular core?" Well I looted two different sets of cores from a wild lair off of normal rancors, one set was a set of 6 and the following was a single core, however they all share serial numbers so one would suspect you could say use 5 singular cores in place of a whole set of 5, which is only true when all 5 of them are in perfect condition.
But back to my point, please raise your hand if you are making cores without the assistance of looted cores for I would like to know how easy or hard of a time you are having doing it. My friend launched survey droids on every planet looking for the stuff with no prevail. And that is my question.

It's quite possible to make advanced cores. The only one that's currently tricky on Bria at least is the assault cores as there isnt alot of high end dathomiran fiberplast kickinga bout right now and most of what there is is from resource deeds at the moment. Current spawns dont look too good either last I checked.
For recon and battle armor on the other hand I've had no problems at all finding the necessary resources. Though the naboo brisley hide could have been a hell of alot better. Which is why those cores are currently only comming out at 4700's (final combine of about 5000 soemthing).
Your friend may just have to suck it up and buy from a resource dealer though. That's what i had to do for several resources. It's more expensive obviously. But it's generaly quite possible to find every resource you need. I doubt Ahazi is -that- much different that your friend cant make -any- cores at all. Unless they just started out. In which case then yes I could easily see why they wouldnt either have the right types. Or perhaps simply nto have the quantity of resources required. As armor now takes a hell of alot more to make now.

I am on bloodfin and have made from scratch - kin layers, energy layers, primus layers - I have made all segs and advanced cores - and all armor except BH, Assault Marauder, Recon Marauder and Imperial faction armors (I am rebel) I had to use a resource crate for only 2 different resources. Most of my quad layer is over 7k. I have also made suits with +100 health bonuses by using pre cu loot.

Hello All. I have an armorsmith friend on my server I like to help out from time to time so I get the main vein of my armor information from her. She said it would be possible to make cores if she had the resources however they are very good at hiding.
I have a feeling that if it is posible to make them, that maybe they have not constituted these resources yet. If this is a trend, I would enjoy hearing about it for it will drive my struggle to claim as many cores I can get even more (wish I were better equipped.. lol.)
I really don't like the feeling that, for the time being, looted cores are the only facet of making armor. It seems kind of fruitless and crippling to server economies. Not to mention that it would turn a high yeild business into a custom order business technically.
Hehe.. this ranger feels in over his head. I am killing all these rancors just for the loot.. lol, not even skinning them to compensate for the shuttle trips. Well.. any responses are more than welcome. Seems kind of funny to me how they downgraded passed once-great armor into mediocre and now they make it a hassle for you guys to make medium protection armor. I like how all the layers unravels in the CU. You all have a fun time, or what is left of it!

It all comes down to how long you've been following AS resources on your server - really, the only new resource category added to the new Adv. Core schems is Extrusive Ore, for Adv. Battle Cores. Every other specific named example of a resource type should have been looked for by a dedicated and thorough resource-hunter. We've always needed bristley hide, so the chances are good that a long-time AS already has a stash of good Naboo Bristley. Ditto with fiberplast - we've always needed it for Ubese, so an attentive AS would have gotten the last great spawn of Dathomir fiberplast (assuming there was one) on your server.
The two specific resources I just mentioned were the only ones I was missing when the new schems hit Test Center, but Intrepid has recently been blessed with good spawns of both, so I'm all hooked up for great unlayered cores.
The giant bag of new resource reqs for Adv. layers is a whole other can of worms, and I'm not equipped to make them, nor am I prepared to spend millions on 30k resource kits to make layers that add very little to the final product.
People are falling all over themselves to buy my unlayered Imp armor at 850k/suit, with the following final stats:
RECON - 6975 Energy/5975 Base/4975 Kin
BATTLE - 5906 to all stats
ASSAULT - 6914 Kin/5914 Base/4914 Energy
Tell your friend to just put out the armor she's capable of making at the moment - people are hungry for new armor, and WILL buy it.

I didn't go after the recent dath fiberplast because I already had 2M corellian fiberplast that was better for ubese. Why would I bother going after stuff that I didn't need that was worse than what I had for what I needed it for?
I did have a stash of naboo bristley, but only 60k. I thought that would last a lifetime, since almost nobody ordered anything but comp, ubese and hunting/BM.
Besides the resource weighting change made my stockpiled beyrrlius and mythra etc crap, so I had to get those new again.
My only weak link now is assault armor that I only hit 5954 with, but I don't think it can get higher with our servers resources. Recon and battle I cap 6000 unlayered.
Layer resources.. are not my friends.

So far my best set has been over 7k energy on a set of tantel - I also gave it a +100 health bonus
