Thread: PSG's Shifting Stats

Do they ever plan to fix the shifting stats of the PSGs? Right now they are worthless. I have put a schematic in my factory, and the factory generated 10 crates. Now, out of these 10 crates 3 had the same properties as the original schematic, the other 7 crates had random stats/vulnerabilities. Now... after using one of the crates that didnt shift, I pulled a PSG out of it. Guess what? the stats shifted again upon removal from the crate.

My question again is this : Do they EVER plan to fix this, or do they wish to let it just irritate the heck out of us?

welcome to my world ... i had made schematics for Mk.3's and the new Imp PSG's that had no vulnerabilities... and made some of those with highest base resist possible for my materials on both models... had a ton of orders for crates ofkinetic resist PSG's... a lot of wookies and a lot of BH's (kinetic for lightsiaber protection i imagine)... not to mention high stun resist for some added protection against headshots with jawa rifles.... of course the PSG shift bug makes it impossible to mass produce or even possess a PSG that is reliable in its vulnerabilities.... the only stat that is consistent is of course energy... so i still have to market them as good NPC hunting protection...

Since not nearly as many people use PSG's AND armorasONLY armor i doubt this bug will be fixed for a while (at least i doubt this is at the top of the dev's list... but that is only an assumption based on the fact thatthe bugis still around)...

As an aside... before I actually got to see what the imperial crackdown actually was (or wasn't)... i really thought that PSG's might see a greater market since i was under the impression that everyone was not going to be able to continue to use sliced gear... i really think that the dev's are trying to get people to use PSG's with the inclusion of the new Imp PSG... i really think they can complement armor really well... and of course for wookies right now they help a lot. Until the bug is fixed though it is impossible to make the PSG market more robust...

They say they are working on it, but "it's hard." Probably means won't see a fix for a while, as they are focusing on other things right now.

Add to this issue now that you sometimes have to "re-equip" the PSG in order for it to even function. I was watching my combat tab the other day, and no msgs were coming across saying that the PSG was working. In the middle of combat, I removed it and re-equipped it, and it started working again.

I have heard rumors that they are working on it... where did you see this? I think it is wonderful if they are working on it, however, it has been an ongoing issue for a while now. I would hope that in the next couple of months they make it a larger priority.

If my memory serves me right, TH made a passing comment that the devs were looking into the issue, but since it deals with cross server data transfers, which is why it shifts when you log, shuttle, or cross server boundries, it a difficult issue to tackle. I haven't seen much talked form the devs about the need to re-equip the PSG for it to function and the Armor Hole bugs but I'm sure they know about them and are trying to fix them. I can bearly imagine the amount ofcodethey would need to shift through to find this bug. All I can say is that these will probably be around for some time until they actively begin to look into it, unless by some miracle a dev finds whatever is causing the problem.

This is the one bug in the game that I find ridiculous. Been there since beginning, and been top AS issue for over 6 months.

I have been looking for any Dev response and last one was Nov or Dec that I have seen. The response was that it does not happen when they tested it.

Jaato has said that he has been told that they are working on it, but I have yet to see an offical response stating that they even admit to it being a bug.

Here are two responces from TH that I found just to make it clear that the devs do know about the shifting issue.

Well from their publishing list....

They have announced that the shifting stat bug on PSGs is getting fixed in the next couple publishes. It is about time eh?

In the state of the game letter it specifically says:

Publish 8 (Droids Rebuilt)

Utility Droids
Droid Power Display
Droid Customization
Image Designer Enhancements
Fix Hermit quests
Increase the amount and frequency of MOB Spawns
Fix PSG's with Random stats
Revise Starport Routes/ Lower Shuttle times
Lengthen the amount of time it takes for structures to decay
New User: guided experience through starting professions
Combat Profession Bug Fixes

But in the development notes for publish 8, there is no mention of it.
