I want to buy a set of 80% Composite, but not sure how to keep it good. When i repared armor in the past it looses alot of quality or it breaks (i am not an armorsmith), Should i bring it to a Master Armorsmith to repair instead, and how often?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think armorsmiths have any better chance of success than any other player. From what I hear it is better to repair before it hits 1/2 condition.
