Thread: Question regarding Tantel (Eclipse)

Hi,

I understand that Tantel armour suffers from the stat-shift bug, and only consists of the helm, chestplate...and er...the other piece (I know it's not leg pieces..glove maybe?), consequently no-one seems to be making it.

My question though is, does anyone have an idea of how high the energy resist could get to with this armour?

I had a read of the FAQ and Smithy guide, but that didn't give any impression of what sort of resists Tantel might be able to achieve..or if it did I just didn't see it.

Also, if you are an AS on Eclipse and you are able to make a set of good Tantel, I would be interested in getting in touch to place an individual order.

Thanks

Well.....I have crafted a few pieces of Tantel....and if memory serves you can only layer with one layer...that being the case your best results will probably only be in the mid 30's to low 40's range. Personally, I havenever found good avian bone and bristley hide to make into the armor. With uber statsresources you might be able to get the energyclose to 50% but that would be with some amazing resources I would bet.

I really like the look of the armor and wear it as my chest piece when I am running around. Join that with a pair of padded pants all black and it makes for a nice looking light two piece armor set. The protection on Tantel is never going to be great though.

The protection on the other base stats I can get upwards of the high teens low twenties.

On the shifting stats....not sure that happens anymore....I have at least not noticed my armor doing that recently.

Hope this helps a bit.

The armor only has 3 sets to it and the resists aren't so good, the first two you said and the other is boots, but the hemletlooks cool. Not many people wear it and has we all know everyone wants composite.

I have a feeling it's alot closer to 60%. I have a few minor failures on my vendor I just checked. 47% energy, with a fail in experimentation (minor), another 42% another 44% ( all had a fail, fails seemed pretty common with it). I used decent resources except for avian, which was 300/300 range (crappy). The non failuresI got went above 50%.

Hummm....that is interesting Tirgwystraff about the stats you are getting on the tantel....

If that is the case a layer of Kinetic with exceptional resources would make for a pretty nice helm and chest plate. I might have to experiment with that a bit. I think I might have picked up some decent resources over the past month for some.

Is it possible to push the base up more on Tantel? What kind of loots would help this? I have seen 25% on my server but I am wondering if its possible to do better.
