Armorsmith Archive
Thread: The business
- is that a good price for armour?
- how much more should i charge for scliced armour (enumbrance seems to be worth more than resistance)?
- can u sell people armour in bag on vendor or is it seprate pices?
- do you do special orders?
- do you sell components? ( ie layers or segs)
- how many armoursmiths have merchant?
- should i progress up the merchant tree?
- should i go about spamming?
- any inventive ideas on decorating?
- any other tips or tricks?
i would be very greatfull if you could share you knowledge with me.
cheers
Well that is good price, most armor is priced higher where im from.
people will buy pcs... just keep throwing more items up there. who cares if you end up with a couple odd pcs... theyll sell eventually. If its bugging you price the main pcs higher and the arm pcs relatively cheap. Might want to sell both pcs and full sets.
do repair kits sell. a lot of people ask if i buy the repair kit off you and look at your vendors will you plz repair my armour?
should i tell them it seems to make no difference who repairs the armour?
i sell all my full suits in travel bags labeled.....this works for me great and while i am not certain, i would like to take some credit for doing this with armor way back in the day on the bloodfin server...i thought it was a good idea i had and within soon afterwards and up till now its become the norm. i hate selling just pieces for the same reason u had, i do sell some like stun helms and already sliced uber chest plates but aside from these no pieces. so whatever works for you i guess.

I'll post this here as well even though I just posted it in another thread.
When I get the question 'Do you make composite?", I usually send out email with a link to this forum along with information about the kinds of composite I make. Heavy "I don't give a rat's *** about HAM" armor, Strong Light, Standard Adv and Standard Non Adv. I include my vendor waypoint along with what is currently stocked on the vendor as well as the current cost for custom orders.

I sell my triple kinetic layered comp for about 170k a suit. Right now it's 71% kin 55% base. I put them in bags with a colored title so they stand out on the vendor. Pieces I sell at slightly higher prices to encourage people to buy full suits.
What I have started doing recently is making prototypes of the pieces until I get a nice 4 socketed one. Then I make the schematic from that. So I have some singles to put on the vendor and a nice run to go with it.
Sliced armor, when I stock it, is sold with the cost of slicing and a surcharge added onto it. I will probably put up a second vendor for sliced stuff in the future sometime, to keep it organized.
Special orders are fine, I'm happy to fill them if I have the resources.
I don't sell components, but I've traded segements to a DE/MArt for PSG components.
Merchant.... take it or leave it, I picked it up because armor is really all I do and I wanted my vendors to wear my armor. (I dunno how they can put it on unbuffed, but they do!)
Word of mouth is your best advertisment. I don't spam (well, very rarely, maybe when I'm waiting on shuttles) and I've sold a good amount of suits.
Welcome to smithing!
