I was told these were bugged. Can anyone confirm this, and if so, does anyone know if it's been fixed?

Has anyone even used sharnaff segs?

I've used them before. They are used for Chitin Armor.

I've used them once. The resulting kinetic was so poor I trashed the rest.

My guildmates go sharnaff hunting all the time and give me the segements they find. Used in chitin armor, it takes a couple vulnerabilities and make thema low percentage special protection. The pro is that you get something other than composite that offers a wide range of protection. The con is that the ham costs are comparable to an unlayered composite suit. Best bet is to add these segs to the places that take heat damage. I'm finding that my Sharnaff chitin suits just don't move, making the sharnaff segments basically worthless.

However, the Sharnaff plating is useful (the segment enhancing drop). I often put this into mabari suits to enhance the vulnerabilities up to special protections. Much better choice for people who want a low encumberance suit with a wide range of protection. Voritor scales is a good choice for this armor too.

I love experimenting with loot drops, especially when they are dropped at my vendor for free. From my experiments, the benefits of the segments are far outweighed by the encumbrance, even if you were to argue thatSharnaff Chitin armor is more affordable than composite.

Sounds like enhancers are more the way to go with everything... been collecting voritor scales to try out... I can see why people think sharnaff segments are buggy though if they add that much to the ham costs.

Thanks for the info.

I've used both Chitin segs (Sharnaff and... the other one...) and they work.

One of them just bumps up Blast resist or something weak, and the other one adds quite a bit of special protections (but I still favor Krayt Enhanced Mabari).
