Thread: Light Composite
You must be a 12 point smith - I make suits with identical resists but with a total HAM around 100 higher in each value - but I do not have the extra 2 points to spend....
Very nice armor - but I wonder how many people with just overlook it for the 65%+ killer (1000) HAM suits, my feeling is the extra 5-10% is not worth it for the HAM increase, but most people don't seem to see it that way...

Dova,
What HAM can you get for a 67% + base suit? The only way I have seen this done is by maxing the base on the layers and thus adding at least 300 to each value in HAM... On most sets I have seen that is pushing it close to 1000/1000/1000.
Remember the 60% base can still be sliced to 80% base, thus the gap between the two sets is still only 10% - is that worth the near doubling (in some cases) of HAM?
James,
I can't get in-game until later to post stats but the HAM on my 69% base composite is under 800 for all 3 stats from my recollection. The HAM cost on my 80% Kinetic low HAM stuff totals around 1500.
The current state of buffs simply don't demand that HAM costs be low. 10% more protection on a shot in the Corvette that is 2400 damage and comes every couple of seconds is a significant number. Look at the numbers in a combat situation and not the 10% and you'll realize the benefit of extra protection. I could care less if my HAM is 300 points lower per stat if I'm avoiding that much more damage every 1-3 seconds. Particularly if most of my stats are buffed to3-4k.
Nice stats Dova. I haven't tried kinetic layers yet. Probably will in the next few days.
Currently I can get 61% base electric layered in the HAM range you've posted. Not sure of the exact stats, but I can wear it unbuffed.
What does it all mean? I don't have to chase down a doc or wait in line in Coronet in order to go out and do some hunting or fighting. Of course, I can't stand toe-to-toe with a rancor and spam specials either.
What's the point, when buffs are so easy to get? Simple. It gets boring to me to hack at something for several minutes and not worry in the least about death. Pretty sad state when the most excitement is wondering what kind of repair my scythe is going to get.
Personally, I hope the devs make the weight of armor effect movement and attack speed. Then I wonder how many are prepared (or even willing), to learn how to make comp that's not so heavy. Be interesting to see who wears what kind of armor too. Bet you'll see many in some kliknik enhanced chitin.![]()
Ooops...I meant..nice stats Nisse. Yours look good to Dova.
And yes....with todays buffs, who cares if the armor has 1000 HAM. I have yet to make a set that heavy anyway. My 68% suits are in the 800 range...I think. Never even occured to me to look before.
