I keep looting assault, battle, and recon armor cores(usually in stacks of 6-8) from krayts... the stats dont vary much for each type... just wondering if these are worth anything... most of the stats range from base 5300-5400 with variances for the armor type... I have probably 10-15 different stacks

I'll take "worth anything" to mean "are they any good," and say yes, they can be useful, Add 400 to the numbers on the core to get the final stats of the armor, and you can usually tell for yourself. They're also likely to have higher condition than crafted cores even if the resists aren't quite as high.

I've been looking for looted cores on the galaxy vendor search, but they don't appear under Armor Components (at least as far as I can tell). Does anyone know which category they appear under? Thanks.

Hmm...I've seen them before. They are in the armor section and then have a section called cores I believe...it's mixed in with the level that asks for hand armor, head armor etc. I don't think they are in the components sub-category.
