Thread: PSGs anyone have legit info (please provide proof/link if possible)
When I was fighting a few days ago, a friend and I battled with no PSG then donned them and let them charge up, when you get hit from a ranged attack you see a glow pop up around you and teh damage taken is minimized, does nothing up close. Also when CU went live there was a publish stating that it was ranged only and that Jedi could wear them. It was on the Jedi boards.

Heh yeah, so I've gathered. But players saying it in the AS forums, vs the AS Correspondent or a link to patch notes / dev tracker /etc showing SOE explicitly saying it are two different things when it comes to forum bickering.
Best I have made so far is 2380 energy protection (ranged only) and 8k condition, once they charge ( when you first put ot on it chrages up) it starts protecting only against ranged. Jedi use it because BH pop them from ranged mainly thats why it was such a big deal. Pre CU, BH were adk'ing PSG and owning Jedi.

And for a sidenote: I'm not on either side of the aforementioned bickering. Just came across it in a couple of different forums here now with people on both sides claiming to have personally tested it and that they know beyond all doubt that it does/doesn't work on melee energy attacks, blah, blah, yaddah, yaddah.
Really just wanted a definitive official word to shut 'em both up. May have to end up to using my favorite technique of the forum version of /addignore. (dunnae like it, dunnae read it! Works well for me, and will again I s'pose.)
Thanks for the backup though. Total /respect for our AS community. (Was master AS for about a year myself. May the gamer Gods smile upon you for continuing this full-time job that is crafting armor ... and putting up with the foons that want to buy it for 25k)
What, my word's not good enough for them? Ah, well . . .
This isn't that hard to test. Have the doubters wear no armor but PSG, and smack them with a lightsaber. Check the combat channel to see if their armor absorbed any damage.
