Hi all,
Just wanted toshare some info about BH Armor with all my fellow Armorsmiths.

General Info
BH Armor looks like this:
http://mg.web-cites.com/armor.html (Look at Assault Armor)

It's exclusively dropped by Black Sun NPC's.
Theyare CL88 and CL89 Elite. They are pretty tough unless you know what you're doing.
The Black Suns are still indeed soloable and 80%of my post-CU kills were done solo.

For info on where to go and what to hunt, see "Bounty Hunter Armor Loot Guide by Rodav (Chimaera)". Although the Kill Method mentioned is Pre-CU tactics, it should get you started.
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=game_guides&message.id=274270

Post-CU BH Armor only has condition on them and no resists.
Post-CU BH Armor is NON-WEARABLE

Post-CU BH Armoris basically a component used to craft Mandalorian Armor in the DWB.

Pre-CU BH Armor has resists and is categorized as Assault Armor

Pre-CU BH Armoris WEARABLE.
Pre-CU BH Armor has "Crafted" behind the name of the Armor piece, and can not be used to craft Mando unless it's "refitted" (you get an option in the radial).

My Post-CU Loot Rate

The drop rate seems to vary a lot, but this is what I have so far.
I didn't keep tabs on the first 100 or so BS's, so I'll start at #101 since I have data after that.

#1-100 one Bicep and one Legging
#119 Bracer
#125 Legging
#155 Chest Plate
#163 Bicep
#207 Gloves
#214 JetPack Base
#225 Legging
#231 Boots
#234 Helmet
#262 Bicep

#267 Helmet

#285 Bicep

#292 Bicep

Currentlyat#298

So far, after about300 kills, I've looted 14 pieces and a JetPack Base.

That's about 1 in 20 or 5%!

Very good average, but as you can see, the first 200 BS's only netted me 6 pieces.

Long dry spells like between #125 and #155, #163 and #207are common so don't expect a drop after killing just a handful of them.

Drop Rate by Piece (includes Pre-CU loot)

So far, I've looted37 items from Black Suns before and after the CU.

Let's see how many of each I have...

BH Helmet - 5 13.5%

BH Chest - 4 10.8%

BH Leggings - 6 16.2%

BH Right Bicep - 6 16.2%

BH Right Bracer - 4 10.8%

BH Left Bicep - 4 10.8%

BH Left Bracer - 3 8.1%

BH Gloves - 1 2.7%

BH Boots - 2 5.4%

BH Belt - 0 0.0%

BH JetPack Base -2 5.4%

It's only 37 pieces so accuracy is probably waaaaay off, but this is what I have.

From what others are reporting also, the Beltseems to be the most difficult piece to loot.

If others can post their loot rate, perhaps we can get a better idea of what the drop rate is for each piece.

Do you have any helpful tactics to fight the Black Sun? I have only been fighting high level non-ranged attack mobs, so I don't have a clue how to fight high level ranged.

I tried some of the techniques in that post you mentioned, and none of them worked. Black sun guy werent at 0,0 endor anymore, nor were they on the yavin beaches.

Not slighting you, great post! Just giving a heads up to other readers.

I'd say 97% of my kills are on Yavin, along the shoreline and near the mountain NW of the Mining Outpost.

3% are on Dathomir near the Imperial Prison.

Black Sun npc's really like mountains.

Fly to research outpost on Endor then look at the planetary map. See that mountain just north of the outpost? A group or two of Black Sun will be somewhere on that mountain at all times.

Same with two or three of the mountains on Yavin, and the mountain next to Imperial Prison on Dath (although I hear the group near Imperial Prison have a limited spawn area on that mountain).

As far as tactics go, here's a little trick i used post-CU as a rifleman.

Cover, use conceal shot until the target breaks cover. At this range they will switch to mellee weapons, ussually a stun baton. Now you can kite them like a mellee mob as they seem to not switch back to their ranged weapon no matter how far away you get.

On some nights, I'd find spawn after spawn, like 1 every 500m or so.

On others, I'd find only 1 or 2 spawns in a whole hour searching the shorelines AND mountains.

If the spawns seem to be scarce, I suggest you do something else for a day or two and wait for a server reset.

I've been rotating between GDK/Gurk King, Gorax and BS for the past few weeks since I have nothing to craft. LOL
