no race is bad for a given profession, but some have advantages in some professions, my armoursmith is a twi'lek, and there are no negative sides to that (unless people dont like twi'leks), so overall no race 'sucks' at crafting, its all up to your preferance

Actually, Rodian's get signifficant bonuses for weaponsmithing.
