Thread: newbie armor wearing problem

i just started a marksman and bought some padded and chitin armor. it says i lack the certification to wear them.
is this because im wearing a rifle and need recon armor or do i need to gain a certain CL or profession to wear armor?

Only the 'Elite' combatprofessions such as Rifleman, Swordsman and Smuggler get Armour certification. Check the skills sheet and look at all classes and check the novice box out for each. In the bottom right hand corner is a window that will display any armour certification mitigation bonuses - this shows you what armour that profession will certify you for.

you will also fing that you will suffer hindrances which will reduce you rate of fire, movement etc, until you reach master level of you chosen professions, though you do earn various amounts of mitigations to reduce the hindrance on your way to master.
