As I do mainly P vs E, how does the tka handle the high kinetic defense found on a lot of creatures ? I've tried the llc, now using the flame thrower, which does a very good job even on heat res creatures. But I would like to hear comments before I lose master marks to take this up. I use these along with master CH. Any comments from the experts would be helpful.

Thanks

Well, creatures having high kinetic resist is one of the biggest disadvantages of being a TKA. Since we only have one type of damage and no DoT's, there is really nothing to do about it. That being said, we can deal a fair amount of damage so even if some gets eaten be resists there are much that goes through

Of course some high end mobs have 100% kinetic and then there is simply nothing to do, with only TKA skills atleast

Agreed, TKA's rely on speed and damage.

hiya, just made master armoursmith 2 days ago, playing around with comp layers segs and gloves.

So far the best stats i can get are;

Kin Layer

Base 4%

Integrity 497

Enc10 on all

Kin eff 5%

Adv comp seg

Base 32%

Integrity 2098

Enc 38 38 40

Elec 10%

Kin 12%

Then when i shove this in a set of gloves

Cond 38514

Kin /elec 80%

Base 66%

Enc 70 67 72

Now for a first attempt i was quite pleased with this, BUT, i checked out a few other smithy vendors. They seem to have 80/80/71 base unsliced.

is this all about resources or am i doing something wrong?

Thanks

probably resources...

your layers dont give you fractions so Im guessing either you are using low quality resources or you exp your base to 75% and stop there

hmmm looking at your special resists I would say that you are using resources that cap around the 75% marker maybe a bit higher like 80%

You need to find some better layer resources if you want to compete though better resources all the way though would help

Amlmost everyone can make 66% base with halfway descent resources

Also...I may be wrong but are you using 1 exp point on the special on the kin layers? If so, max the base on the layer and put everything else into HAM. Doing this could give you potentially another 2 pts to the total base %. If this prevents you from hitting 80/80 then go back to what you were doing.
