Does anyone have a reference for the specific damage types specific MOBs do? I know I hear about how SBDs do blast damage etc., but is there some definitive resource for this? I'm considering how to best maximize theeffectivenessof my various lines of composite (both sliced and non)while cutting back on the number of different types. Any help is appreciated.

Coming from a PVEer The more higher damage type/base % I have the happier I am thats why I wear a 90% Suit all the time..So get your Base as high as possible then sell it and people will get it sliced Also I know alot of AS that will use a stun layer vs a Kinetic layer just because you cant bump the Kinetic up anymore with a sliced
My 2 cents

The thing is,each percent you increase in base gives you a disproportionately greater chance of a slice hitting 90%, due in part to the fact that slicing results conform roughly to a bell curve. Now, I can hit 71% base with most layering schemes, but I can hit 72% using kinetic, blast, or energy layers, which gives a significantly better chance of hitting 90%. But then, of course, that damage type is locked into special.
Also, not everyone can afford sliced armor, or don't want to grind it to pieces. Some people would prefer armor with specials designed for the vette orNS hunting. I could make 80% blast/kin/10% stun for NS hunting, but then I'd still need something with high energy for the vette/high-end PvE. Or I could make 80% blast/kin/energy, suitable for any of the above.. except it has no stun protection. PSG could fill that hole, I suppose.
Of course everyone wants 90% base. I sell pre-sliced, which I make a nice profit on... but I then have the problem of having all this armor that got enc slices, that no one wants. Depending on what the special is, the enc sliced can be more or less saleable. The 40% stun/67% base enc sliced, for example, sells about as slow as mud, even priced much lower than anything else.

True and making 80% blast layers might not be a bad idea but SBDs and Swordsmanuse Blast so little less protection their and Energy and Kinetic are a must and like them to be the highest they will go..

Thats the problem with sliceing now AS on Kettemoor will sometimes have a sale and sell their Ecum sliced armor for 10k a peice a loose to the AS but its a way to get it moving..
