I would've posted this sooner, but I had to get approval from tiggs.
I've gone over things with the developers, and I got some clear answers about how things are going to work in the CU Beta testing. Things are going to be a little bit different from what you may expect on a blue frogged test center, and I want to keep us working together. Team Armadillo (The Armorsmtih represetatives in Alpha) are now going to be expanding to incorparate all armorsmiths who wish to work together on the test center to properly test our system and get information to the rest of the community in a timely fashion.
However there will be some important things to keep in mind, TC will not be lke anything you might come to expect. There will be frogs, however they will not be the usual pick any skill, get weapons and buffs, and go at it type of frogs. They will be very strictly controlled by devs to make sure testing what needs to be tested is done. Further the current plan is that as each testing phase is completed, the test center will be reset multiple times to create a new clean start for each testing phase. This will inhibit our ability to "hoard" a large sum of resources in a testing house. However during each time we will have two major objectives:
Primarily: Assist the developers with the current phase of testing. If they are testing brawler skills, pick up brawler and test 'em out. If they need comments on pistols, help out with pistols ect.
Secondarily: To investigate and work with the new armor crafting system. Now the first few weeks we will most likely not be able to get as in depth of a feel into the profession as we would like, however once the testing is expanded for player crafted equipment, as long as things go according to plan, I will have access to a wide variety of materials so we can test everything from low quality newb stuff up to high end super equipment and try to push armor as far as possible.
On TC I will be operating under my usual ingame name of Oa'kron. If I am on and wish to see what I'm testing and how you can join me, send me a tell, lemme know you want to help with the armorsmith testers, and we will go have fun. I think it will be a great experience for everyone.

first phase is going to be newb experience, and in the current system, you are not supposed to get armor certifdications until you enter the elite profesions, so I think we will not see much armor testing the first few days.
And you should guys know... I'm on pretty close to the same page as everyone else when it comes to CU, if I had the resource req's I would post 'em right now

So this confirms I question I had on another thread? In order to wear any armor you will have to at least be a novice in some combat class?
If so, I think that stinks for us crafters that just want to survive enough when surveying and such. I'd like to see some basic armor certification at a lower level even if its only one type. Somethine that will give us some protection.
btw: I don't want to hijack this thread. Just wanted to make sure I was hearing what I thought I heard.

Outstanding!
I'm assuming there's still no estimation as to when it's going to hit TC?

it was under anouncments.
*kinda glad for delay, I don't get out of work for another hour*
at least my commute homeis only about 10 steps
I guess I could close up shop early when it finally gets back up, anyway... I'm going to ask the artisans if they can help us get resources together to make some personal harvestors (yay surveying!) and get some resources togehter so I can at least grind up armorsmith, and maybe a couple other people, and check out resource req's.

Okay everyone... we're gonna go for Keren, Nabooto be our area of operations. Since it's a less popular city, and on a rather friendly planet, I think it will work nicely for us. If it gets too crouded, we may, however, move to rori.

As and when I can get on - count me in for AS/Artisan testing....
Intensely curious/excited/concerned... etc (delete any not applicable)
Gonna try out the combat classes too though.
I would post the Test IGN but got no idea yet. Is it available yet?

well, you can get deeds for mines off of blue frogs, I am setting up our base at 596, 4163 on naboo. Go to keren, get some mines from the frog, then head out to us. I will put everyone on admin to the mines who asks and puts me on admin to theirs
