Hiya

I just master armoursmith before server came down and was woundering if i could Get some info from you old timers.

Well i been a masterweponsmith for about 6 months now and well i have learned that some of thenamed resoruces in weponsmithing actully have caps on the stats. For example Desh copper has a UT cap of about 350.

So i was woundering ifsomeone could spare the time to give me some info onif this happens in armoursmith.

Also can anyone spare the time to give me a idea of some of the name resoruces what stats are average etc ?

Thanks for any help

The resources and names all vary from server to server. Our Colat Iron on Starsider is named different from the ones you have on your server.

And, all the stats for resources vary from server to server as well. Which, imho.. pretty cheesy.

Don't like the stats on an item you want on your server?

Then let's justmove to a different one with better quality materials.

Just doesn't make sense to me.

Respectfully,

Thanks for the reply dude.

I do understand that the resoruces per server are difrent. But the caps in weponsmithing i was talking about apply to all servers, There is some thing in the resoruce spawning code that do's not let desh copper have a UT above 350-400 on any server. So what i was askingis there any of the name resources for armoursmith thathave the same issue.

Also by average i meanwhat would you say agood Average combined stats are.

For Example

TheBeryen (sp) copper needed for comp armour , needs 4 stats, UT, Shock, OQ ,Mal - So perfect would be 4000 combined stats, But average would be 2000 combined stats. Butbecuse of some resoruces not having some stats and others having Caps , i was woundering if anyone has noticed anyorder to it for armoursmithing.

That make any sence or am i just waffeling

You are spot on,

The stats on named resources are always gated in a very narrow band, all that is except OQ that is a random 0-1000.. The key to getting good named resources is just simply get the best OQ, all the other stats will only change the end result by a few% max..

It is a different matter for general resources, for example Alu, but here again you can see this at work as the named resources that fit in with armor crafting are Link-Steel and Phrik, because the gated stats for MA and SR are high..

BTW was that Beyrllius Copper?? If so the stats for MA and SR are 600-675 and 400-460... The stats for OQ are 0-1000, so a possible weighted average range for this resource (MA+OQ+OQ+SR)/4 is 250 to 783, thus a range of 533, of which 500 of this is soley down to OQ.... MA and SR together can only effect the resultant quality by 6% of the range.

Just get high OQ.....

Hey Canable,

Now that everyone has danced around your actual questions, I'll give you the answer you were looking for

You can think of the OQ/Conductivityratio for Weaponsmithing as the same as the OQ/Shock resist for Armor.

For your composite Armor...

Phrik Aluminum SR+OQ/2 max = 950

Solid Petro Fuel SR+OQ/2 max = 1000

Beyrillius Copper SR+OQ/2 max = 750

Wooly, Naboo Fiberplast,SR+OQ/2 max = 1000

Katrium Intrusive Ore SR+OQ/2 = 1000

So basically the "gated resources" are Beyrillius Copper and Aluminum. It just so happens that Phrik is the best aluminum and Katrium is the best Intrusive ore.

I'm putting together the Mallaibility/OQ ratio's atm, but its kinda useless (with buffs no one gives a crap about HAM)so I'm taking my time

A good way to check for gated stats is to do history searches on swgcraft.com.

Click on "find resources" in the left nav bar.

Then pick the class you want to check, such as Kiirium Steel. Make sure server is set to "All Servers" and Available? is set to "No", then put 100 next to a stat you want to check, like MA.

If you do this with Kiirium, you'll see that the highest MA Kiirium in the swgcraft database is 93, which appeared on Shadowfire. Of course the swgcraft database is missing a lot of the oldest resources, but it can still provide a pretty good idea for the stat ranges.
