Hey there
I am not an armorsmith but i do want to be informed on how it is that make armor. I am in the market for a full suit of the best armor i can get. From what i have heard that would be composite. I want the stuff to be good all around armor versitle in many situations for many different character types (mainly TKA though). i have found that the best way to get a good deal is to get smart so i am researching what is the best i can (or should) be able to find and for what price i should expect to be paying. In case anyone who reads this board is capable of making such a suit my server is Eclipse and you are free (more like encouraged) you make a sales pitch. Thanks for reading and may the force be with you!!

Well first, good for you for checking... most people just buy composite when theres one or two more options available.
Personally (and not just cos im selling the stuff) Id reccomend buying at least 2 suits,
1. Ubese - for protecting against kinetic (creature damage). This stuff is cheaper to buy, is lighter to wear, and typically offers higher kinetic protection than an equivalent suit of composite - on eclipse, youre talking typically 68-70 kinetic resist.
2. Unlayered composite - typically 64 electricity, 55 base (everything else but stun) - This is the armour of choice for standard 'multi functional' hunting. an unlayered composite suit may still need to be sliced by a smuggler for encumbrance before it can be fully worn when unbuffed though depending on your race as the encumbrance caps (i.e. the maximum secondary stats) are lower than the encumbrance of the suit.
3. Layered composite - the creme de la creme of the armour world. Typically a high (75%+ up to 80) special resist in 1 type of damage, a high (70%+) electrical resistance, and base values around 62-68%. Depending on how heavy the suit is, higher resists are possible, but that also increases the encumbrance by a major factor. Typical 'light' layered suits around around 600/500/600 encumbrance, heavy high resist ones are around 800/700/800 or more. These suits are designed to be worn when buffed (you can probably get away with squeezing an light layered one on with good encumbrance slices) and benefit enormously from effectivenes slices giving them the 80%+ base which most heavy combattants yearn for. If you do go for effectiveness slices, then be warned that the special resist wont change from its experimented value, so if youre looking for some 80%+ kinetic armour (jedi hunters) then you dont want to get kinetic layered composite, but should look into something like energy layered or even if possible stun layered, so the kinetic is still and effectiveness value and can be sliced.
And now for the business part:
If you check my signature, you can find the location of my vendors, feel free to take a visit, im trying to ensure that none of the vendors go without stock for a 24 hour period, plus my prices are some of the lowest on eclipse compared to my major competitors. You wont be upset with what you find there.
Ubese - 75k (all locations)
Unlayered composite - 120k (all locations)
Layered composite - 400k (coronet only)
