Thread: Who Needs Mandalorian Armor?

Well, as it stands right now, on quite a few servers with the right resourses, good slices, and maybe some janta hide you can get composite that is 80% Electricity, 90% Base, 40% Stun. While this doesn't leave too much room for improvement, it does leave room for variation. In the course of adding new content, the Devs should add half a dozen new armors that all have similar stats and encumbrances to Composite, but each type of armor would have a different single special protection and a different single vulnerability. For example, one new type might have Acid as its special protection and Heat as its vulnerability, while another type could have Cold as its special protection andElectricity as its vulnerability. The only thing that matters is that each type of armor, through the use of layers, could be experimented and sliced up to 80-90-40. If the Devs did something like this we'd start seeing people wearing a much greater variety of armor in combat. (In fact, in such a situation the smart player would mix and match pieces from the different armor types so as to force his opponent to rely on targetted pool attacks if he wanted to try to shoot at one of the armor's specific weak spots.) There'd probably be more of a demand for all the various loot drop armor enhancers, too, since there'd actually be a use for them in a high end armor that didn't always have stun as its only vulnerable/low value resistance.
all of us would welcome more armor. Even with same resists. People do buy it for looks too. Why buy composite like everyone else, when you can be the first on the block to own mandalorian.]
Yes, they do buy it for looks, I even sell padded crap.

Master Amrorsmtih Armor shop now open. Shops in New Alderaan (dantooine) and Skinny's Cheap armor on the beach in bartertown. NIce Ubese and affordable composite, along with all other armor and sheilds
80%+ on all resists other than Stun is easy, just triple layer with electric for 80% electric and as long as the bases are 60% or higher you can get over 80% in the base resists with good slices. In fact if you can get 70% on bases it is fairly easy to get 90% in all resists other than electric which will be 80% and the usual stun hole.
I had thought of this issue a while back, composite is just too good, in fact all armour is. The easiest fix I can think of would be to change it so that all armours (with the exception of RIS) should have 3 vulnerabilities, the only problem with applying such changes so late in the game is that there is a lot of existing composite in the game that couldnt just be removed and wiping the two new vulnerabilities would cause a lot of complaints.

Nerfing should never be the solution. I think they just got to make the other armors better and more attractive by lowering the HAM and increasing the resists.
Increasing the resist above 85-90% then I guess you mean? There's not much room there...
My guess is that when the combat revamp goes live, the ham cost for specials will be balanced in a way so that low ham armor will be more efficient. That way people may have to make a choice between attack and defense.
I've thought about this before, too, and rather then go in and nerf everyone's composite by taking away its resists for two exsisting damage types, they should just add a few more damage types to the game. For example, one new type could be Proton damage, which would be whatever sort of damage is behind the warhead in a Proton Torpedo. They could then add some new weapons that use these new damage types, while at the same time adding new layers and a few new types of armor, all with different Special Protections and Vulnerabilities.

Be careful with the Nerf cries. Consider that a major combat change is coming that may render composite armor unwearable by some classes or all of them, who knows what the ham changes will be and their effect.
and or the changes to doctor buffs. Just one change to doctor buffs will eliminate most players ability to where 3 layered armor because if the high ham load.
Just some thoughts
