Depends on later production. Seems to me you have a great start on your way to 70%+.....If you can use the 13% layer, and still get to 70%+, then do that....but otherwise go with the 14's. an 10% break is important from a psychological standpoint. Just like places sell products for $19.99 instead of $20. 70% Kinetic sells better than 69% by more than just that 1% difference. So take those layers, make as high a kinetic segment as you can with each, and make two pairs of gloves....use that to determine which to go with.
Too bad your Encumberance isn't a bit better, maybe you could substitue a resource withvery slightly lower OQ+SR, for one with higherOQ+MAL. My current ones are similar to yours, but started at 15 on the mal, and the 1 point to them brought that to 13, so they are 13/13, 2%/14%. Best of both worlds. Good luck.
I'll get 74% kinetic ubese with a 14% layer, or 73% with a 13% layer. but I have a feeling my hams suck. 34/51/41 on ubese gloves with 74% kinetic.
I'm about to go do a walkabout to compare and see what sort of ham's armorsmiths get on my server, but I think I'm leaning toward the 13% layer with more ham experimentation.
Ok Noob armorsmith question.
Instead of experimenting on Kinetic special protection why not put it into base protection wouldn't that move inprove the Kinetic layer anyway or is that because it's not composite armor.
or if it was composite armor is wouldn't it be better to put the points into the base protection with the % being as high as it is?

You got it basically right. Ubese doesnt work like composite. Usually in composite you put everything into base and HAM, put nothing in special.
As for the original poster. Remember that with only 1 layer, even if its high, you can still pretty much wear a whole suit of Ubese unbuffed. I'd go for the higher resists personally. But one point between 73% and 74%... maybe the HAM would be worth it.
Good stuff no matter which way you go.

Base experimentation on ubese is close to worthless. People buy theese armors to get the highest possible kinetic resistance with the lowest possible HAM cost. While keeping the kinetic resistance maxed, you would probably be able to push the base resists up from a starting point of around 15% and up to 20-21%. This gain is too low to make a difference, and people would probably be wearing something other than ubese if they were planning on fighting non kinetic opponents anyway. So just stick to maxing out the special resist and putting the rest into HAM, thats what your customers will be looking for 9/10 times.

As to your comment about composite. I made a jedi a special suit for his PVE leveling. Using 3 primarily base experimented kinetic layers. He had originally wanted an 80% kinetic resists. After doing some math, I figured out if I could experiment the kinetic layers just right using 3, should be able to hit 80% easy using no more HAM than if I had used 2 layers, while having a higher overall integrity and base resists.
The point is, if it's composite you can certainly do it different ![]()
With composite it's all a matter of what your trying to achieve. If it's non jedi, then I use my standard 2 layer kinetic comp segments ![]()
But with ubese beyond a doubt go all the way on the resist, forget the base. Even ham isn't that much of a consideration. Ubese is generally light enough to be easily worn by anyone.
