Hey Armorsmiths, I'm not one but is there talks of a Armor paint kit at all so we can change the color of any type of armor we may have bought? Besides the Comp armor and u can do that manualy. I thinka Armor Paint kit would be nice.

What do you guys and gals think?

why not? i know most of the time armorsmiths ive tried to get some nicely color padded armor, turn awefully wrong. That also goes with clothes. Taliors and armorsmiths have it bad i think when they have to try and figure out what blue shade the customer is talking about I think.

I'm not a full armorsmith yet, but i know the pain. I am partially color blind and it kills me with some of the pallets. paint kits would be awsome, but i would just settle for a color number system. something that the customer can look up and say, i want color 52. Oh, that would make me happy. then maybe i could get things to match better.

Paint kits would be a pain i think, as they are for SW, and vehicles.

But i think a solution for this is to hand armor to an Armorsmith and they could change the color. Yes this will also be a pain, but also create more capital for novice armorsmiths that cant sell quality items yet. Even allow xp gain from this to help novice players out.

Let me explain this before getting yelled at

Yes they are easy to make- pop in resources and turn factory on.

But pain would be storage costs! And if they dont sell then you have a bunch of "junk" on your vendor taking up room. And a waste of resources as well.

Now if they sell like hotcakes then great- but i think taking up our limited amount of vendor storage it is not wise.

If they are craftable they should be craftable by Artisans, not Armorsmiths.Regardless ofthat, if they are craftable by Armorsmiths you don't have to make them if you don't want to. If you don't make them, you don't have to worry about storage costs or taking up space on your vendor. Do you make and sell everything that you have schematics for? I would doubt it.

The main reason paint kits are a pain is because you have to redo the painting all the time. If they were permanent, it would be totally reasonable. Also, since armor is a consumed quantity, there would still always be a market for the kits. I think they would be fantastic.

I agree and disagree on alot of the points mentioned here. Paint kits would be 'extremely' handy for the general public but the mechanics on making itpossible would be tough. First off, yes, I think a Master Artisan should be the one doing it (or maybe novie tailor?). If the paint change is going to be permanent, the process should be similar to how a smuggler slices armor/weapons. If it will not be permanent, then it should act like custom kits for droids/vehicles. It's that simple.

Personally, I like that color code idea suggested. An 'smitty could trade the person a tablet or something with a color scheme, tell the the 'smitty the color they want and go from there. Another cool idea would be to treat armor color customization similar tothe image designer process. An armorsmith could make the type of armor the customer wants (regardless of color), have the customer try the stuff on,then (using a armor color kit) start an "armor image design session". I don't know, just an idea...

First, I want to point out that the composite color change was put in as a fix for when they screwed up the color pallete back in January, trying to re-add the pallete they'd already put in a week before. A 2 week fix, and here we are, 10 months later?

And if we must allow color changes, I'd rather see an approprate kit for each suit of armor, where each tool will allow for color changes to one suit of armor. I.E a mabari color change tool, which will have enough charges to change the color on one full set of mabari... Armorsmiths are all about making the armor. There are definete advantages to allow our clients to change the colors of our products themselves. The tools just make sure we get our little piece of the pie....

No Tailors, no artisians, no ID's. And since armor is never 'called' like a droid or a vehicle, the color changes should simply be permanent. Only reason to change the color is if the person wants to.
