Thread: Armor NERF and Questions

Since the SWG market has lost all control and the money system is shot, does anyone known when the Armor NERF is to hit? Before people waste their hard earned money, now that solo-missions have been money NERFED. I think it would be wise for SWG/SOE to inform its players. Why waste 500k on a suit of armor if it will soon be worth less? Can anyone fill in this blanks? What about old armor or display armor in a collectors house? Will the old armor be treated like the old pre-nerf weapons? I heard that the nerf will reduce all armor by 50%. But is that for NEW only?

Also, question: From a combat stand point, which piece of armor is struck most in combat? Would it be the chest? I have studied my combat log and have seen a pretty even score. Anyone?

Thanks for the info!

First off,

Its Combat Rebalance, not nerfed. Everything changes. Armor will still be useful after the rebalance.

We'll know in advance what's gonna happen. I think old armors still can be used.

On the other subject armor hit most, I would say that the chestplate is hit the most, followed by the leggings, helmet and boots.

I think its being called the "Combat Update" now. Its supposedly going to be an overhaul of the entire combat system, classes, weapons, moves, stats, buffs, armor, the works. Nothing specific is known that we can be told as of yet. Don't expect this for a while though, probably months, possibly 6 or more. Again we don't know any details. It has been stated that old armor will be retroactivly brought in line with the new system, but agian no details are know, or even if this will happen. Basicly we have to sit and wait. Don't hold your breath or any purchases you may be considering, its gonna be a while.

On the armor, untargeted hits will most likely be stopped by the chest piece.

its funny how everyone thinks the market is out of control. its a free market and is driven by the players.(its difinetely not driven by SWG) would u rather have a limit on sales on like a communist country. im not slamming u but its getting tireing how everyone thinks its SWG's fault. prices are what they are because thats what players can afford. if they couldnt afford it, crafters would be lowering there prices so they could make a profit. and im sure if u spent some time looking, u could find something better then 500k for comp armor.

as for any kind an armor nerf. armor prices will not change no matter what SWG does. players will stilll pay, for what they could afford, for the best armor available.

i'm not trying to flame u but make understand a little better.

If people will pay the money, thats what Armorsmiths will charge. But allways shop around.

Ive found crappy-er armor on my server for ALOT more than I charge and Ive found equal armor to mine for much less.

JTL has hit AS hard. Not many ppl off fighting critters or pvping on the ground much anymore. It will trickle down from the mission fix and the economy will re adjuxt as a glut of armor sits on the market.

And dont worry about armor in the CU. We of team Armadillo will not steer our profession wrong

I'm tired of people saying its out of control too. Every server is different and there are many AS on each server all with different prices. I've seen armor the same as I make for 3-4 times as much... mostly because I cut cost by doingalot ofthings myself. But people will pay what they can afford and most people just don't know that there are different AS out there. I'd have to say that overall, from what I can tell on the boards, my server probably has one of the lowest overall armor prices.

/cheer for team Armadillo!
