I was asked by a Droid Engineer this Question:
As an Armorsmith,if you had a choicewhat components would you like most in your droid?
Now I am sure Clothing/Armor Crafting Station is a given, so outside of that, what would you like in your droid?
Me personally:
Clothing/Armor Station
General Items Station
Structure Station (since I'm also an architect)
10 Items Storage
Update:
Okay so It is also supposed to be what you would like to see added too.
Which fo r me would be a modification of the droid payment option to the point it can take resources from my mines and bring them to me and notify me if any resources that where being collected had shifted. That's something I've always wanted to save me a bit of time, having droids travel to my mines then back with all the resources for me.

scematic storage isnt so bad either.
if you find a tailor who can craft you a scematic real cheap for synth clothe and RF panels, and you have the extra poly and fiberplast to keep around then this droid would be the best place to store those resources and scematics.Like this you wont have to bother looking for a tailor for a while if you make enough scems and have enough of these resources.

Now to match this thread to the same exact one in all other crafting forums.
If you could create a brand new module that wasnt in game that would help Armorsmiths, outside of storage, what would it be?

I like a combat droid with storage and crafting. Very handy for checking harvs. I pop out my droid to fend off any spawns by the harvs, then use it to store the stuff I just got off the harvs. I like the combat for when I am crafting by my factories too, since it can kill off small spawns there too.

Hmm, if the actual intent of this is to get a "wishlist" for future droid modules, here's what I'd love to see -- a mini-factory droid module.
Basically let a droid do a minorfactory run on items under a certain complexity, with a maximum of 10 items created. This would be great for testing potential layer combinations for chestplates (since they often differ slightly from the other pieces), doing a quick run with Nightsister shards/layers, or other such uses. Because the schematic would be limited to a maximum of 10 items, architects and factories would not be significantly devalued. Droids and Droid Engineers would gain another valuable use / product, and all crafting professions would benefit from the ability.

Okies. Droid addons? Not an armorsmith now, but I know what I would have liked to have.
for a current droid- Clothing/crafting station. 10 item storage. a little combat skills (so it's not running all the time). harvest ability.
For new items?
Portable assembly ability- add batteries, and it makes items. Slow, and would use a full 100% battery power for say, 10 items. the finished items would go into the storage module, then the droid would stop making. Same SN, but no crates. Basically just for makign a quick peice to replace something that breaks in the field, etc.
Experimental crafting stations. As a tradeoff for the architects, the new module uses a finished crafting station, and the droid gets that rating. Could be an optional component- a flat 0 bonus without it, but with it, can get as high as a +43.x, same as any home station.
Chassis functionality. BLL should have 5x the capacity of normal droids (up to 50 items, like a backpack). Or optionally, a BLL could use a lot, and allow you to deed a structure with all items inside, and move it. Something like that. Power droids should take fuels, not batteries, and convert it to battery power. They shouldn't NEED batteries at all on their own. The small number of modules they hold is balance enough. More to the point for armorsmiths- we need some utility droids. A Treadwell should have an innate crafting ability- perhaps a +10 or +20 to assembly. That's what it does. Astromechs should have a similar, but smaller ability. Treadwells should be able to trade battery power for harvester maintainance, another of it's supposed jobs left unanswered. Any of these abilities would greatly help armorsmiths.
Another idea is the portable extractor module. It would operate as a medium (at max), with a BER of 10, but would store when you log out, would run out of power in a couple hours, could be attacked, etc. But sometimes, get those resource spots of 80-90% right by the starport, and this way, could whip out a droid and grab that stuff. Perhaps could only go in a specific droid, or perhaps a function of the chassis, like a power droid. If they want balance, make it take a lot. Trading the constant pull of a placed heavy harveter, for the usefulness of a medium one they can stick anyplace, anytime, and it only takes batteries.
Cargo droids. another 1 lot droid, that would hold 100 items like a factory. Perfect solution for all the unused factories cluttering, and wouldn't infalte the DB really,s icne it takes a lot. Would just get the items off the landscape, and into people's Dpads.

Along with the Clothing / Armor station, I like the Weapons / Droid/ Generic station, since we need that to make AUKs, and as a master artisan I can use it to crank out PC / ED schematics as well.
Beyond that, storage (both item and data) is nice.

hehe yes i am the DE that made the request the goal here is a wishlist...to see new modules/functions youd like to see added to droids. or augmentations to existing functions....given the Combat upgrade there is a chance well see some new mods/functions so we are quizing all the profs to get a feel for what is somethings theyde like droids to do.
