Thread: question from new AS

Ok first off i would like to point out i read every post above ( stickies ) and did a search for all topics that show "layers" and "armor stats".
I mastered at 3am this morning, went to bed. Woke up and started to play around with my armor. Took me a few tries and lot of reading while crafting. Trying to understand something new isnt always easy. And since being long time architect/ws this is new to me.
Here goes.
My first piece of armor after palying around with stats turned out to be:
80 kin
80 energy
80 elect
69% base ( first 2 were 65% and 68% for base )
This i am happy with, and many people told me they want a few suits already.
But i am trying to hit 70% base andi m so close, yet so far away.
I am using the absolute best resources and cant seem to get past 69% even though that is 4% better than my first few attempts.
My layers were :
2x kinetic layer
4 base
12 ham
7 kin
1x energy layer
3base
14ham
12 energy
total was like
33 base
48 ham
13 energy
16 elec
10 kinetic
roughly.
How do i get that base up 1 point?
Or my comp segments to 34-35% base?
Should i lower my layers a little? I ht 91-94% on middle line.
SO i am lost, any help here would be grateful.
Dont get me wrong, i am happy with 69% base but would like 70%.
I dont think this is bad for being an armorsmith for less than a day, please help.
1 more question- about stun.
Should i use 2 stun layers and 1 kinetic when trying to fo for 80kin/35+ stun. Most i can hit is about 13-18 for stun.

Must say this is very fun to do btw. I needed a change and i have enjoyed my "play time" with as so far

Ok tried again after reading some more:
tried these:
4/10/6 for kin
3/14/12 for energy
segment was:
33%
47
47
50
13 - kin
13 - en
12 - el
total on gloves were:
80/80/80 with 67% base
HAM: 70/66/73
Going down now on base but much better HAM.
Advice please

If you are going for 70% base you wouldnt need 12% on your energy layers or 7% on your kin..
10% should be enough for the energy layer and 5% on the kin layers
chuck the points into base on the energy layer atleast and if you are maxed on base on the kin layers chuck em into encumb..
If you are lucky the fractions from the extra points into base will shoot you up over the 70% mark...
as always try it out on a pair of gloves :-)

Thank you, that worked. I scrapped the layers i was doing and tried a energy layer. I hit 80/80/80 with 70% base. Also hit 80kin/80el with 71 base. You you helped me out a great deal.

Thats great mate
Im so happy I could be of help :-)
Now try and make a small run of layers and test on a chest. Chest is a bit different from the other pieces as your beyrllius copper has more weight on chests..
I know that before I got a new polymer to get me a bit over the 70% base line on kin comp I could only get 69% on the chest..
